Arizona dispensaries now delivering recreational marijuana

PHOENIX (AZFamily) —A rule that went into effect last November in Arizona is now being utilized. The new rule allows dispensaries to deliver recreational marijuana to customers in Arizona.

“We’re getting some new customers and that’s what it’s all about,” Mint Cannabis chief branding officer Pablo Palomino said. “We’re trying to reach those people who are not able to make it out.”

Their dispensary in Tempe hired three new drivers and a dispatch. The team fills the orders in a lock box before they go out to make deliveries.

“I’ve been driving for 10 years, so I’ve been delivering all kinds of things,” one of the drivers, Clint, said. “Weed is a first.”

People who order online must register for an account in person at the store.

Once they prove they are 21 years or older, they can be approved for the account.

Then, they can order marijuana straight to their home, hotel, or business.

Once the driver arrives, they check for the ID to make sure they’re delivering to the right person.

Drivers are not allowed to leave the items unclaimed or give them to anyone but the previously approved person who made the order.
