Fashion can say a lot about who we are.
How we dress can reflect cultural background, emotional state, social class and even personality. People often judge others based on what they wear or how they wear it, and this judgment is often subconscious. Clothes considered name brand and expensive may cause others think that you are well educated and wealthy whereas if the same person went out in an old tee-shirt and ripped jeans people might unfortunately judge that person as uneducated or rebellious. Right or not, fashion and style dictates what occurs and what others think of us in much of our daily life, often unbeknownst to us.
It is no surprise then that fashion choices can be stressful for all women. At work a professional style is necessary whereas at night we want to appear fun and attractive to others. Even exercise clothes have now become statements of ones style and where many would go to the gym in a ripped shirt and old jogging pants now go in yoga pants with fashionable tops. It can be overwhelming to figure out what trends are current and how to dress appropriately.
Fashion and style can say a lot about an individual and to keep up with the latest trends it is important to have a foundational knowledge of fashion as is provided in the book “Women’s Fashion” by Cory Spring.
