Apple’s latest AirPods are already on sale for $99 before Prime Day
Amazon Prime Day kicks off tomorrow, July 8th, but you don’t have to wait until then to pick up Apple’s latest pair of AirPods at a discount. Right now, the AirPods 4 are available for around $99 ($30 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, while the AirPods 4 with noise cancellation are going for around $149 ($30 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. That’s within $10 of the lowest price we’ve seen on the ANC model and matches the lowest price to date on the base pair.
Both versions of Apple’s current-gen earbuds feature shorter stems and larger buds than previous models, allowing them to accommodate a broader range of ear shapes. The open-style earbuds use a hard plastic body that doesn’t create a tight seal inside your ear, which means they sacrifice some bass response compared to gummy-tipped earbuds. Hardshell earbuds won’t create pressure in your ear, though, which can feel uncomfortable after listening to music for a few hours.
Overall, the fourth-gen AirPods sound better than previous models due to a custom amplifier and new acoustic architecture. Audio quality is somewhat subjective and largely depends on how the music was recorded, mixed, and mastered; however, former Verge staffer Chris Welch noted in his review that he was pleased with the sound of Apple’s latest pair of wireless earbuds. If you’re upgrading from an older pair, you’ll notice a difference.
The AirPods 4 run on Apple’s H2 chip, which is required for Voice Isolation, a feature that reduces background noise and amplifies the volume of your voice during calls. If you’re using an iPhone, you can say “Hey Siri” to evoke Apple’s smart assistant to place calls, hear and return messages, and play music. You can also locate the earbuds using the Find My app on Apple devices if they’re misplaced.
The entry-level model can last up to five hours on a single charge and can be fully charged five times using the included USB-C charging case (the ANC model also offers wireless charging). Both pairs of earbuds are also IP54-rated for dust, sweat, and water resistance, ensuring you can wear them safely during workouts. Needless to say, the AirPods 4 are excellent earbuds at their current price, whether you opt for the model with active noise cancellation or not.

Woot is offering solid discounts on some of the best Nintendo Switch 2 games
There haven’t been a lot of opportunities to catch Switch 2 games on sale since the console launched in early June, but that’s changing thanks to Woot. The store is having a sale on new video games and game accessories that’s live now, and runs through November 8th at 11:59PM CT. Dozens of games for all three current-generation systems are on sale, but the Switch 2 titles caught our eye because of how new they are. Woot’s deals are especially enticing because first-party Nintendo games don’t go on sale very often.
Woot’s sale also includes discounts on Switch 2 exclusives, including Donkey Kong Banaza and Mario Kart World, and Switch 2 Edition versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Kirby and the Forgotten Land Plus Star-Crossed World. The latter are enhanced versions of games released for the original Switch that have new exclusive content, a boost in performance, or both. If you already own the original versions of these games, Nintendo allows you to download a paid upgrade pack to get the enhancements instead of paying full price for the entire game.
There are also some respectable discounts on games released for the original Nintendo Switch, which can be played on the Switch 2, so we’ve included them here. In some cases games are listed as being an “international version” of the title, which is fine because the Nintendo Switch 2 is a region free console that’s able to play them.

Because of this, Nike says Project Amplify isn’t about competition. The company’s focus is on making movement easier and more approachable for a wider range of people. Whether someone is new to running or wants to fit more walking into daily life, the technology is designed to offer gentle support without taking over the effort.
Innovation made accessible
Nike’s VP of Emerging Sport and Innovation Michael Donaghu described the idea behind Project Amplify as this, “What if we could help athletes move faster and farther with less energy and a lot more fun?”

Tim Cook says more AIs are coming to Apple Intelligence
This isn’t the first time we’re hearing about third-party integrations, as Apple software SVP Craig Federighi said last year that the company “may look forward to doing integrations with different models like Google Gemini in the future.”
Cook also said that Apple is on track to release an AI-upgraded Siri next year, adding that “our intention is to integrate with more people over time.” Apple is “making good progress” on Siri, he added during an earnings call on Thursday.
The news comes as Apple releases its fourth quarter earnings results, which revealed that the company raked in a record $102.5 billion over the past few months, marking an eight percent increase when compared to the same time last year.
Sales from the iPhone 17 lineup likely only make up a small portion of Apple’s overall $49.03 billion in iPhone revenue. The new lineup includes the iPhone Air — Apple’s thinnest device yet — along with the upgraded iPhone 17 and 17 Pro. This year, Apple brought some features previously reserved for its Pro-level iPhones to its entry-level device, including an always-on display with ProMotion support for smoother scrolling.
Apple saw an increase in revenue across its other products, too, with $8.72 billion in revenue from Macs and $6.95 billion from iPads. Apple’s services division, which includes subscriptions to Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Fitness Plus, and Apple Arcade, ballooned to $28.8 billion.
