EDWARD A. MAHONEY (Age 87)

Of Chevy Chase, MD handed away peacefully on Could 19, 2022. He was born on July 1, 1934 in Torrington, Connecticut to the late Eva (Minnehan) and George Mahoney.

Ed was an avid gardener, baker, carpenter, traveler and an animal lover. He beloved music, notably classical, bluegrass, gospel, and people, in addition to enjoying the classical guitar. Animals nice and small acknowledged him as an ally and beloved him again. He had an appreciation for little-noticed element in artwork, carpentry, and structure. Most notably his kindness, thoughtfulness, and outgoing nature made him mates in every single place he went.

Ed took delight in his Navy service, and he was a pure creator and entrepreneur, founding Iran’s first pencil manufacturing unit in Tehran in 1967, and later a information digest which chronicled Farsi-language radio broadcasts for Iran specialists in academia, trade, and authorities following the 1979 Iranian revolution. He reworked a home in Chevy Chase together with his personal design and fingers for his household’s house from 1981 onwards.

He’s survived by his loving spouse, Golnaz of 57 years; his youngsters Alex Mahoney of Washington, DC and Miriam Bizup (and her husband, David) of Hollywood, MD; one brother Thomas Mahoney (and his spouse Elenora) of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren Daniel Bizup of Hollywood, MD and Gregory Bizup (and his spouse Jazmine) of San Diego, CA with one nice grandchild arriving November 2022.

His type and loving spirit will probably be missed by many.
