Dallas-area travelers looking for more intercity transit — without having to drive— will soon have a new option, just as the region gears up for the World Cup and other major live events.
Charter bus and minibus service GOGO Charters recently announced a new daily route connecting Dallas-Fort Worth with Waco, Austin and San Antonio expected to launch this summer.
GOGO promises customers “upscale” amenities like reclining seats, high-speed Wi-Fi, power outlets and onboard restrooms.
“We’ve identified a handful of regions, Texas being one of them, where we’d like to roll this service out first,” a GOGO spokesperson said.
“With the World Cup and some other pretty notable, large-scale events coming to the area, this is one of our priority markets.”
Two additional connections — one originating in Corpus Christi and one in Houston — are also expected to ferry passengers to Dallas-Fort Worth. The service update adds to the company’s previously announced routes in Texas, which also include service to San Marcos and Temple.
The routes are part of a larger launch that will allow individual passengers to buy tickets for predetermined routes, similar to regional options Amtrak or Greyhound.
GOGO already offers traditional charter bus services, which allow groups to book private trips outside of pre-determined routes. Depending on the group size and the vehicle, those options can run anywhere between $400 to $2200.
The company is one of several charter bus providers offering Dallas service including Texas Charter Bus Company, Premier Transportation, Imperial Charters and Dallas Royal Coach.
