Columbia County Code Enforcement and residents weigh in on what’s ahead for local apartment complex

Matt Schlachter, Deputy Supervisor, for Columbia County Code Enforcement says THEY PAID THE APARTMENTS A VISIT AFTER RECEIVING COMPLAINTS FROM MULTIPLE RESIDENTS, LIKE RODRIGUEZ. He says they discovered a combined bag, some residences in worse form than others. 1 UNIT WAS CONDEMnED AND THAT RESIDENT WAS RELOCATED IMMEDIATELY. when an house is condemned, he says it basically signifies that it is NOT FIT TO BE LIVED IN. Groups partner to offer hygiene items for Augusta community

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Precious Pearls Mentoring and Purposed to Inspire spent Saturday morning passing out hygiene bags and purses filled with essential items.

This year, for the first time, the two organizations decided to join together as a way to make an even bigger impact.

“Better together. We make more of an impact when we decide to bring things together and we can create a better impact,” said Patrice Canty with Purposed to Inspire.

Leaders say they’ve noticed the need for help is not slowing down.
