A new bar and patio coupled with a party bike pub opened in downtown Augusta.
Augusta Pedal Pub, Bar and Outdoor Patio opened its physical location doors to the public in August at 305 12th Street. It was started as a way to bring fun to Augusta.
Charity Jones, owner of the Augusta Pedal Pub, said the idea came about when she and her husband took a pedal bike tour in Atlanta.
Pedal Pub, with franchise locations across the U.S. which started out of the Netherlands, is a 15-passenger party bike. The vehicles are 80 percent powered by riders. Tours last 90 minutes.
Jones said she is happy to have an additional space with her family with the outdoor bar and patio.
The bar and patio will feature southern bar food and a full service bar open Tuesday through Saturday. Signature food items include crab legs, Hennessy-infused meatballs and loaded fries. Additionally, theme nights including open mic and LGBTQIA+ nights, which will take place on a weekly basis.
Jones is looking forward to making an impact in the community.
“At the end of the day, everybody wants to party,” Jones said. “What we have to offer is great for anyone that chooses to have some fun.”
“I think it gives locals and tourists that come to town something new to do and it’s an opportunity to sightsee, get on the bike, have some fun, or do a pub crawl and get on the bike and celebrate your friend’s birthday or bachelorette party or bachelor party, listen to music with your friends (and) have a good time,” Jake Halbert, VP of Pedal Pub operations, said.
