ATLANTA – Latest mass shootings within the U.S. have sparked outrage and political debate in Washington D.C.

One Atlanta congresswoman held a city corridor to listen to the ideas and considerations of her youngest constituents earlier than a bunch of residents joined 1000’s throughout the nation and took to the streets in a march towards gun violence on Saturday afternoon.

Congresswoman Nikema Williams, D-Ga., and Atlanta Board of Training Member Jason Esteves hosted a city corridor for college kids on the King Heart within the Outdated Fourth Ward. The subject of the city corridor was gun security.

“Up to now 3 weeks we have witnessed a collection of unlucky occasions associated to gun violence in our nation,” a web based occasion invitation mentioned. “We should create an area to take heed to our youth.”

Mass shootings in Uvalde, Texas, and Buffalo, New York rallied voices of protestors calling on lawmakers to enact sweeping reforms of gun legal guidelines. Protestors throughout the nation marched in unison at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, calling for motion.

“March for Our Lives” first adopted the Feb. 14, 2018, killings of 14 college students and three employees members by a former pupil at Marjory Stoneman Douglas Excessive Faculty in Parkland, Florida.

Survivors of mass shootings and different incidents of gun violence have lobbied legislators and testified on Capitol Hill this week.

4 passengers injured as hundreds evacuate Delta flight by emergency slide in Atlanta

Hundreds of passengers were forced to evacuate a Delta airlines flight by emergency slides in snowy conditions Friday after an aborted takeoff in Atlanta — leading to at least four injuries and one hospitalization, authorities said.

Roughly 200 people hurriedly deplaned Minneapolis-bound flight 2668 on the tarmac at Atlanta International Airport at 9:10 a.m. due to an engine problem, airline officials said.

Footage posted on social media shows frazzled travelers, including children, running with their luggage from a Boeing 757-300 plane in several inches of snow, according to atlantanewsfirst.com.

Four passengers reported minor injuries and one was taken to the hospital, while the others were treated at the scene, the airport said.

Details about the engine problems were not immediately clear.

Delta apologized to passengers for the nerve-wracking experience.

“Delta’s flight crew followed established procedures to suspend the takeoff of flight…after an indication of an engine issue,” Delta said in a statement.

“Nothing is more important than the safety of our people and customers, and we apologize to our customers for their experience.”
