Absentee voting for South Dakota primary underway

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) – The South Dakota primary is less than two months away, and absentee voting is already underway.

Absentee voting is recommended for those who will not be able to vote in person at a polling place on election day.

If you find yourself in a position where you think you’ll need to send in an absentee vote, you’ll have to request a ballot application through your county’s auditor.

In the application, you must include a photocopy of an acceptable photo ID or have the form notarized. Plus, you must mail in the form in a timely manner.

If you plan to absentee vote in person, you’ll have to contact your county auditor for times when you can come in before June 6.
