Milwaukee fatal hit-and-run; mom marks 1 year since her son was killed
MILWAUKEE – Monday, Aug. 28 will mark one year since a 23-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash near Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
“I never thought that he wouldn’t be here. Never,” said Gloria Shaw, Xaiver Davis’ mother.
Shaw said this past year has been nothing short of unthinkable.
“He was my world, and then my world left,” Shaw said.
On Aug. 28, 2022, Shaw’s son, Xaiver Davis was killed while crossing the street near Fiserv Forum.
“He would’ve done anything for anybody, because that’s the type of guy he was,” Shaw said.

Police say a driver in a pickup truck ran a red light, struck Davis, and drove off.

“At 1:50 a.m., it will be 365 days without him,” Shaw said.
A year without Xaiver and a year without answers.
“I need more closure. Because, who, who you see siting here, is who Xaiver saw every day,” Shaw said.

As of now, no one has been charged for Davis’ death. But Shaw said she will not stop fighting until they find the person responsible for taking her only son. In fact, Shaw said she met with Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman a few weeks ago, and keeps her Facebook open for tips.
“Until I don’t have any more breath left in my body, it’s always going to be justice for Xaiver,” Shaw said. “You were a coward, and here I am still waiting.”
Police say photos show the truck that hit Davis. It is a black 2021-2022 Dodge Ram.

“You know you hit a person, then you saw your call all over the news. So now turn yourself in,” Shaw said.
Shaw asks the driver to put themselves in her shoes.

“I still don’t sleep. Maybe three, four hours a day,” Shaw said. “My circle is almost halfway closed, and just give me that piece.”

Shaw said justice may be the only thing that can bring a little bit of closure.
“I can have more peace. Because it’s never going to be over for me,” Shaw said. “I am going to keep fighting. That’s all I have.”

Shaw urges anyone who knows anything to contact the Milwaukee Police Department or reach out to her on Facebook.

'This is my pub': Packers Fans fill Moran’s in South Milwaukee for Thanksgiving watch party
SOUTH MILWAUKEE — It was all about the Packers Thursday night at Moran’s Pub on Thanksgiving. Dozens of fans spent the end of the holiday cheering on Green Bay as they took on the Miami Dolphins.
Moran’s invited TMJ4 to check out their special watch party and soak in the atmosphere.
Deanna Olson, a devoted fan, referred to the pub as her home. “This is my pub,” she said. “This is my hometown, South Milwaukee, born and raised. I live here, I love it, and I always cheer on my Packers. I’ve got to bring Grandpa’s flag, and here we are.”
That flag has become a lucky fashion statement of sorts for Olson.
“We went ahead and put this on as an ascot, and then we beat the Bears, so the ascot has to come back,” she said.

Olson wasn’t the only fan relying on a good luck charm Thursday night.
“I always have my Packer purse. Always during Packer season, I’ve got to make sure that I carry this,” said Katie “Grammy” Hilpert.
Hilpert was joined by her daughter and granddaughter. Together, they bleed Green and Gold. Moran’s is her go-to pub, making the game even more enjoyable.
“Oh, they’re my boys. I’m very thankful because they have had a little better of a season, but we’ll take what we can get,” said Hilpert.
During the game, fans had the chance to play games and participate in raffles.
Both Hilpert’s and Olson’s lucky charms paid off as the Packers secured the win.
While Hilpert was grateful to cheer on her beloved Packers this holiday, simply coming together at the pub was already a guaranteed victory.
“What are you thankful for?” asked TMJ4’s Mike Beiermeister.
“Grandchildren, children. Life in general is really good, really good right now,” Hilpert replied, embodying the spirit of gratitude on this Thanksgiving Day.
