Ohio State At Michigan Is College Football’s Biggest Bet 2023 Regular Season Game

The behemoth Big Ten battle of undefeated college football heavyweights has arrived. The big house in Ann Arbor is where “The Game” will be decided between Ohio State and Michigan, who are both 11-0 as they determine the East division champion. The winner advances to next week’s Big Ten Championship game vs. Iowa.
The 119th Ohio State-Michigan rivalry winner will also secure a spot in the final 4-team College Football Playoff. The loser waits for more games to be decided later Saturday and in next week’s conference championship games, but still a chance to be included in the College Football Playoff.
The Ohio State-Michigan game is sure to be one of the biggest bet college football games of the 2023 regular season, and perhaps the most bet game once the decision is decided at the leading online sportsbooks.
BetMGM reports the Ohio State-Michigan game as the most bet college football game this weekend. The Ohio State Buckeye’s have also taken the most bets, and have the second-most money (handle) wagered behind Alabama, who plays Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Ohio State is also the most bet underdog to win outright on the moneyline, and the Buckeyes-Wolverines game has the most bet money ‘under’ the game total in the over/under market.

Ahead of last Saturday’s Week 12 games, leading online sportsbooks had an advance betting line of Michigan -5.5 vs. Ohio State. Now the spread is Michigan -3.5.

The Wolverines have won 21 straight home games, the longest home winning streak under head coach Jim Harbaugh and the programs best since a 28-game winning streak from 1969-73 under former head coach Bo Schembechler.
Harbaugh is serving a 3-game suspension and will not be on the sidelines Saturday.

- Ohio State is slightly better on a compensated yards per play basis on both offense (+1.3 yppl to +1.2 yppl) and on defense (1.6 yppl better than average vs 1.4 yppl), but Michigan is projected to run 6 more plays from scrimmage because they have more of a ball-control offense while Ohio State has more short drives due to big plays.
- Overall the math projects Michigan to have an edge of 35 total yards, the Wolverines have an edge in special teams and in projected turnovers and the model favors Big Blue by 5.5 points.
- However, Ohio State is 16-1 ATS as an underdog of 3 points or more since 2009 and the underdog usually wins these end of season games between unbeaten teams.
- My database goes back to 1980 and since then there have been 6 games between unbeaten teams in the final regular season game of the season. In those games the underdog is 5-1 straight up and 6-0 ATS with an average line of +4.75 points – including Michigan winning 45-23 at Columbus last year as an 8-point underdog.
Dr. Bob is not betting “The Game”, but suggests if you like Ohio State, you might want to consider putting an added wager on the money line.

The College Football Playoff expands and triples next season to 12 teams. The Big Ten also expands to 18 teams with the additions of UCLA, USC, Oregon and Washington, and there will no longer be divisions in the Big Ten. The Ohio State-Michigan rivalry will continue, and all that should create more popularity in college football and sports betting, which continues to flourish and provide fans more excitement and engagement in the games.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Some Democrats are nervous after President Biden’s showing at Thursday night’s debate and there’s talk about trying to replace him on the ballot.
Democrats say they wanted to see strength from President Biden, but Biden appeared to struggle with his delivery, appearing to have a raspy voice and stumbling over some of his words. After this performance, even members of his own party worry that—at his age—he might not be up to the task of leading the country for another term.
6 News spoke with one of the nation’s top Democrats, Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow, who attributed his “slow start” to battling a sore throat.
She says that Biden should not be replaced because his policies are what Michigan needs.
“I think that what he was talking about resonates with people in Michigan, lowering prescription drug costs, more jobs, making sure that we’re tackling the climate crisis which is hitting us right over the head in terms of all of this severe weather,” said Stabenow. “It’s very very serious and it’s not gonna get better if we don’t have a clean energy strategy—he gets up every day caring about Michigan and unfortunately, the other guy gets up caring about himself.”
Republicans, however, were critical of Biden’s performance.

Both Michigan and national polls have shown the two candidates closely matched. This is the first of two scheduled debates before the election in November.
The next debate is set to Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 9 p.m., hosted by ABC.
MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its placemaking grant.
The Public Spaces, Community Places Grant was used to fund projects like the Marquette Skate Plaza.
Skate Plaza Committee Member Nheena Weyer Ittner said this was one of the first projects that used the program’s funding.
“It was a learning experience for them, huge learning experience for the skate plaza,” Ittner said. “We ended up being successful after a hectic, scary, exhilarating month-long campaign.”
MEDC Senior Community Development Manager Lindsey Clark explained the grant uses crowdfunding to generate public attention and interest in placemaking projects.
“We really focus on gathering that support from the community through crowdfunding for the projects,” Clark said. “Then the MEDC is able to come in and help match that local support to bring the projects to life.”
The grant used to match crowdfunding up to $50,000. Over the years, Clark explained the grant’s cap has been raised to $75,000 to incentivize inclusive projects.
“If your project incorporates that ADA and universal design to the project,” Clark said. “We are really trying to focus on bringing projects that are available for all types of folks to enjoy in the community.”
The Marquette Skate Plaza was crowdfunded with $10,000 and then was matched by the MEDC.
Ittner said grants like this encourage involvement from the community.
“When you have that matching fund kind of dangled in front of you, it just makes people more willing to give,” Ittner said. “Because they know that if we get to a particular goal the MEDC will make their dollar double.”
Marquette is one of the last stops for the MEDC’s Public Spaces, Community Places Grant Tour. Representatives will be heading downstate on Saturday.
