Milder trend returns to Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – After a chilly end to the weekend, milder air will start to push back across the Plains and a chance to hit 60 will arrive by Tuesday/Wednesday.

A quiet, mainly clear stretch is on the way for Monday and Tuesday. Light winds from the northwest will shift to the south by Tuesday, and we should expect highs to go from the low 50s early in the week to near 60 by midweek.

There is a cold front that will arrive Wednesday night and Thursday, which will turn our weather colder later in the week. Highs will fall to the 30s and 40 by Friday, and although right now, the forecast remains dry, we will have to watch for some light snow showers to impact far northern Kansas early Friday. This does not appear to be a big, winter system, but areas along and north of I-70 may end up with enough light snow to create a few slick spots Friday morning and afternoon.

Whatever cold snap hits at the end of the week should be limited to just a few days before temperatures begin to rebound.
