Cruz Maria Alvarado Obituary 2024 – Slone and Co. Funeral Directors
Cruz Maria Alvarado, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Cleveland, Ohio on October 24, 2024. Born on September 14, 1931, in Coamo, Puerto Rico, Cruz lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for dancing and singing.
Cruz is survived by her loving children: Ruth Ortiz, Angel M. Alvarado, Maria J. Bacety (Frank), Carlos L. Lillo (Margarita), Carlota Lillo, Noemi Lillo (Manuel), Raul Lillo, Benigno L. Lillo, Pedro R. Lillo, Sandra Ramos, Sandra Rueda (Edwin), Angel L. Hernandez, and Zoraida Figueroa (Danny); and cherished grandchildren Yolanda, Maribel, Jocelyn, Dennise, Jose, Renaldo, Shirley, Emilio, Angel, Alex, Brenda, Denisse, George, Raul, Carlos, Elizabeth, Ruth, Gricaly, Rafael, Fernando, Coral, Patric, Nathalia, Omar, Jasmi, Rey, Xiomara, Carlos, Roberto, Angie, Caroline, Joselyn, Cynthia, Nerelyn, Jasmine, Jackelyn, Pedro, Alexandra, Jose, and Kasandra. She was also a beloved sister to Lucy, Gloria, Pedro, Maria, Diolinde, Angel, and Luis, who will always carry her memory in their hearts.
Cruz was preceded in death by her beloved parents Juan Gomez and Concepcion Alvarado, her dear daughter Nybia Lillo, and her siblings Valina and Demencio.
Visitation will be held on October 30 and 31, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Slone & Co Life Celebration Center, located at 3556 W 130th St, Cleveland, OH. A graveside service will take place on November 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery at14609 Brookpark Rd, Brook Park, OH.
Cruz Maria Alvarado’s spirit will dance on in the loving memories she leaves behind, in the songs that her family sings, and in the hearts of every person she touched with her kindness and grace.

Cleveland, OH – Mild Start to the Week Before Rainy Weather Returns

Cleveland residents can look forward to a brief warm-up at the start of the week, but the reprieve from November’s usual chill will be short-lived as rain and cooler conditions return midweek.
According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will remain mostly cloudy, with a high near 47°F and a southwest wind of 9-11 mph. Overnight, temperatures will dip to 38°F under continued cloud cover.
Monday will bring the week’s warmest day, with highs reaching 55°F. However, showers are likely to begin after 1 p.m., and breezy conditions are expected as south winds increase to 18-21 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Monday night will remain rainy, with lows around 40°F and an 80% chance of precipitation.
Tuesday will see a cooler high of 46°F and a slight chance of lingering morning showers, though skies will remain mostly cloudy. Overnight lows will drop to 33°F under partly cloudy skies.
Wednesday’s forecast features a high near 43°F with mostly cloudy conditions. Rain will likely develop after 1 a.m. into Thanksgiving Day, with lows around 35°F. On Thanksgiving, Cleveland can expect a high of 45°F with showers likely throughout the day, making for a wet holiday.
Rain showers could continue into Thursday night, transitioning into snow as temperatures drop to near freezing. Friday and Saturday will see highs in the upper 30s, with a mix of rain and snow showers possible, along with breezy conditions.
