CHEERS lakefront project enters design phase

In an October board assembly, the Port of Cleveland’s Board of Administrators authorised a $3.75 million contract with Arup Engineering to handle the design and companies wanted to proceed with the CHEERS undertaking.
“We’re excited to be shifting ahead into the design section of this transformational and important undertaking that can profit Northeast Ohio communities for generations to come back,” stated William D. Friedman, President and CEO of the Port.
The undertaking is funded by way of a set of funds supplied by the companions and grant funding from the Nationwide Fish and Wildlife Basis’s Nationwide Coastal Resilience Fund and the Maritime Help Program.
The estimated 30-year plan envisions a phased improvement of the shoreline, together with a brand new accessible isle alongside the lake.
The undertaking intends to rework Cleveland’s East Facet lakefront to a pure residing shoreline with play areas, trails, fishing areas and extra.

Fifth Third Bank picks new president for northern Ohio
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Fifth Third Bank has hired a new president for its northern Ohio market.
Matt Nipper has been promoted to president of Fifth Third’s northern Ohio region, which includes Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Toledo and Youngstown. He takes the place of Tom Partridge, who is now group regional president at Cincinnati-based Fifth Third (Nasdaq: FITB), which is the 11th-largest U.S.-based consumer bank.
Nipper had been Cleveland market president since he joined Fifth Third in April before taking on the larger role.
