2025 Ohio State running back target decommits from Alabama after visit to Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four-star 2025 running back Anthony “Turbo” Rogers decommitted from Alabama on Sunday afternoon.

The Buckeyes have long been after his commitment, and it appears they could be on the verge of getting him to flip his pledge from Alabama.

Rogers, at 5-foot-8 and 190 pounds, is the No. 141 overall prospect and No. 8 running back in the 247Sports.com composite rankings. He attends Carver High School in Montgomery, Ala.

He was on campus for an official visit for the Purdue game just over a week ago. Rogers will make a decision between Ohio State and Georgia on National Signing Day on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Ohio State has two running backs already committed in the 2025 class in Isaiah West and Bo Jackson, and Rogers would give them some needed depth after the tandem of Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson likely both depart at season’s end.

Heading into next season, that would give the Buckeyes five scholarship running backs barring any transfers. Sam Williams-Dixon and James Peoples are currently freshmen in the running back room.

Kendrick Perkins Shades 76ers Following Another Frustrating Loss

Kendrick Perkins Shades 76ers Following Another Frustrating Loss

Former NBA champion center-turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins is never one to shy away from what he feels. Perkins has made a name for himself in the analyst world due to his ability not to mince words.

At times, what he has said has bit him on the butt, but other times, he has hit the nail right in the coffin.

Perkins is a massive presence with a huge personality in front of the camera, and that remains the case on Twitter/X.

Perkins took to Twitter/X on Friday and praised Philadelphia 76ers rookie guard Jared McCain. The 40-year-old analyst said McCain has been the Sixers’ only bright spot.

Perkins posted, “The only bright spot for the 76ers is they struck gold by drafting Jared McCain.”

McCain was amazing for the 76ers, although they suffered a tough loss to the Orlando Magic on Friday night, 96-86.

Nonetheless, McCain kept them in the game as he recorded a team-high 29 points on 10-for-17 shooting from the field, four assists, and one rebound in 31 minutes of action.

Although this was McCain’s breakout game, he has been solid all season long. He’s averaging 14.8 points per game, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while shooting 47 percent from the field.

Perkins is not entirely wrong about McCain being the only bright spot for the 76ers. They have struggled with injuries and have yet to play a game with their big three, Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey.

Things have not been well for the 76ers. Their current record is 2-10, which puts them 14th in the Eastern Conference and 11 games back from the first spot.

This is not the 76ers team that many of us expected them to be, and it’s due to injuries and their top players not living up to their potential.

Although Embiid played on Friday night, he was not his superstar self. Embiid recorded 20 points on 5-for-15 shooting, eight rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal while being a -9 in the plus/minus category.

The 76ers are among the bottom in many categories, including 30th in points per game (104.5), 27th in averaged score margin (-8.3), 24th in fastbreak points per game, and 25th in points in the paint per game at (43.0).

Things have not materialized the way 76ers fans hoped they would; however, they still have the brilliance of McCain on their side.

Inside the sights and sounds of Ohio State vs. Northwestern football at Wrigley Field

CHICAGO — A new tune was introduced to the soundtrack of Wrigley Field on Saturday.

In a ballpark known for its seventh inning stretch and victory song, “Go Cubs Go,” Ohio State football fans echoed a new sound.

“O-H”

From the concession stand lines on the concourse to the packed streets of Wrigleyville, the popular response could be heard.

“I-O”

With Northwestern’s Ryan Field under construction, the Wildcats took homecoming to the city’s north side ballpark.

It provided a backdrop for an outpouring of Ohio State fans to take over one of the nation’s biggest cities and one of MLB’s oldest ballparks.

Scarlet and gray fills Wrigleyville

Wrigley Field’s centerfield hand-controlled scoreboard has been updated to reflect the sport taking place Saturday.

Its out of town scores are labeled to represent quarters instead of innings, with the Big Ten’s Week 12 slate displayed.

Behind the scoreboard, at the intersection of Sheffield Ave. and Waveland Ave., the popular bar Murphy’s Bleachers filled up early for an 11 a.m. local kickoff.

Its patio was flooded with scarlet and gray.

However, despite a small contingent of Northwestern fans, Ohio State fans were trolled just a couple buildings down from Murphy’s Bleachers.

A fan donning an Oregon shirt stood in a window — similar to a mannequin at a Michigan Ave. shop.

He had with him a sign that read, “Ohio St has not beat Michigan in 1,813 days.”

Signs of baseball remain at Wrigley Field

The infield was covered with turf, ensuring no play takes place atop dirt. However, small patches of the warning track provide a reminder that Wrigley Field is, still, a baseball stadium.

Fans in right field also had an opportunity to experience a baseball-centric moment during warm-ups.

The Allstate-sponsored netting that stops kicks from going into stands isn’t in place in the east end zone.

As kickers practiced pregame, field goals going that direction made it into the right field bleachers like a home run.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day said, ultimately, the game is about 100 yards of grass and not what surrounds it.

But for these in the stands, Saturday provided an experience unlike many in college football.
