Jaden Knowles speaks at Booker T. Washington Career Day

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – First Alert Meteorologist Jaden Knowles joined a community of professionals presenting at the Booker T. Washington Elementary School Career Day.

Students in third through fifth grade learned from Knowles about the weather and how to stay safe when it gets severe.

Booker T. kids spent the entire afternoon learning not only from Jaden but from animal rescuers, motorcyclists, police and SWAT officers, firefighters, and more. Knowles said in his experience, it’s important for children to know everything they could be capable of.

“I knew from a very young age I wanted to be a meteorologist, as well as go into the NFL. But, I just wanted to find another passion because having two things would make me great, you know,” Knowles said. “It’s great to have a plan A, but having a plan B as well will help you to even become a better person and so that’s the reason I have a back-up plan and that’s the reason I’m telling them to have a back-up plan.”

Being open and familiar with multiple careers helped Knowles find his true passion.

Knowles said he was honored to be invited to the career day event and he hopes it will help students learn to follow their dreams in the same way he learned to follow his.

Students are already using generative AI in classrooms. Faculty are rethinking assessment. Entire industries are recalibrating workforce expectations. The disruption is not theoretical. It is here.
