Best US beaches to visit in 2024, according to Tripadvisor reviews: See which sandy spots made the list
Those looking for their next beach vacation might be in luck as Tripadvisor named the top spots in the United States.
The world’s largest travel guidance platform announced the top 10 U.S. beaches to visit in 2024 — and some of these may surprise travelers.
The list is based on user reviews left on Tripadvisor across a year-long period; the list is the second Travelers’ Choice Award for the Best of the Best Beaches.

This year’s top 10 list includes eight different U.S. states from coast to coast.

1. Ka’anapali Beach — Lahaina, Hawaii
The best beach to visit in 2024 is Ka’anapali Beach in the town of Lahaina on Maui, Hawaii.
This is the second year in a row it’s claimed the top spot.

Additionally, Ka’anapali Beach is ranked the No. 4 beach in the world, according to nearly 100,000 Tripadvisor reviews.
The beach is noted for having great wildlife sightings plus water sport options.
The town of Lahaina was the main area destroyed in the 2023 Maui wildfires — with the County of Maui confirming over 2,100 acres were burned.
Tripadvisor said that although the wildfires were devastating to the town of Lahaina, Ka’anapali Beach continued to receive positive reviews throughout 2023.
“While the island of Maui has dealt with heartbreaking natural disasters recently, Ka’anapali Beach garnered enough positive reviews and ratings during the 12-month period in which data was analyzed to land among travelers’ favorites for the year,” a representative told Fox News Digital.
The spokesperson continued, “Tourism is important to the local economy, and the beach and island itself have received greater recognition from this award to help them stand out to travelers.”

Tripadvisor also noted that although there is never a bad time to visit the island, the winter is great for whale watching and more affordable hotel pricing.
Ranked No. 2 is Siesta Key, Florida, which is known for its great family attractions, while the No. 3 beach in Poipu, Hawaii, is great for snorkeling.
Tripadvisor’s head of editorial Sarah Firshein said the list could be a guide for someone looking for a beach vacation in the near future.
“Whatever your taste and style, these lists are the perfect jumping-off point for spring break plans that haven’t been cemented yet, summer trips that bring together the whole family and even those far-off winter holidays that beg for a beachy reprieve,” she said in a media statement.
The company also released a list of the top 10 beaches in the world, including Praia de Falesia in Olhos de Agua, Portugal, Spiaggia dei Conigli in Lampedusa, Italy, and La Concha Beach in Donosta, Spain.

Knight, a five-time Olympian and captain of the United States team that won gold, will be out of the lineup for the Seattle Torrent indefinitely after sustaining a lower-body injury in Italy, the team announced Friday.
Knight had three goals and three assists for the U.S. at Milan Cortina including a goal in the 2-1 overtime win over Canada in the final. She has three goals and seven assists during the current PWHL season.

“While we’re eager to be at full strength and recognize the anticipation of Hilary’s return, we’re focused on putting her and our team in the best position for a playoff push,” Torrent general manager Meghan Turner said in a statement.
Minnesota Frost captain Coyne Schofield was placed on long-term injured reserve on Friday retroactive to Feb. 19 with an upper-body injury. Coyne Schofield scored three goals for the United States during the Olympics.
“I am incredibly proud of all our Frost Olympians who demonstrated true excellence on the world stage,” general manager Melissa Caruso said in a statement. “We are fully committed to supporting Kendall throughout her recovery, and our medical team will be working diligently to help her prepare for her return to the ice.”
The moves by the Torrent and Frost came a day after the Montreal Victoire announced that Ambrose has been placed on long-term injured reserve retroactive to Feb. 19 for a lower‑body injury suffered while representing Canada in the gold medal game. Ambrose had a pair of assists at the Olympics.
The Victoire’s Marie-Philip Poulin, Canada’s captain in Italy, was listed as day-to-day with an Olympics-related injury.
Victoire general manager Daniele Sauvageau said of the team’s Olympians “we are confident that they will be back in the lineup in the near future.”
