Thieves dressed as delivery people stole 41 boxes of products from a Planet Beauty warehouse in Costa Mesa on Dec. 11, employees say.

The warehouse manager, Oscar Hernandez, says the estimated retail value of the stolen goods amounts to approximately $80,000.

Surveillance footage captured the theft as it took place within minutes on Wednesday, not far from employees who were unaware of what was happening in broad daylight.

“Tall guys with tattoos on the left arm, what else can I say?” Hernandez recounted to KTLA’s Chris Wolfe. “They were brave.”

The footage shows one man hurriedly packing boxes of high-end goods into a white van with a Carmax license plate.

The suspects have yet to be identified. In addition to what was captured on camera, Hernandez says they had to be strong to move heavy boxes, so easily and quickly.

Victims say the culprits were able to make a few trips back and forth before finally being discovered and chased away.

Hernandez says that he wants their loss to be a cautionary tale for others, especially other companies on overdrive this time of year, selling and shipping all kinds of merchandise for the holidays.

“Just be careful out there,” warns Hernandez.

The business is now distributing flyers, asking for the public’s help in providing information in the case.

Fire crews rescued a driver whose vehicle was found submerged in ocean waters in Orange County on Saturday. 

Newport Beach Fire responded to reports of an SUV spotted in the water near the shoreline at Corona del Mar State Beach at around 5:30 a.m.

Crews headed into the water and were able to rescue the driver. That person was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The vehicle, a black Jeep Wrangler, was also fully submerged in the waters. Crews worked against “challenging conditions caused by waves rolling the vehicle in the surf.”

Photos of the rescue operation showed a large tractor and several other vehicles from Public Works personnel who worked to extract the SUV and later took it away.

“The teamwork and determination of all responders were critical in overcoming the hazards posed by the early morning surf,” said Newport Beach Fire.

It’s unclear how the vehicle ended up in the surf. Authorities did not release further details on the rescue.

The events leading up to the submersion remain under investigation by the Newport Beach Police Department.

Actor and musician Jamie Foxx suffered an injury that required stitches during an altercation at a high-end Beverly Hills restaurant on Friday night, according to reporting from TMZ.

Foxx, who turned 57 on Friday, was dining with family at Mr. Chow when patrons at a nearby table hurled rude and vulgar insults to the “In Living Color” and “Ray” star, a witness told TMZ.

After Foxx asked the party to stop, a person at the table allegedly threw a glass at him. It hit him in the mouth and required stitches, a representative for Foxx told the media outlet.

In a statement, the Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed an incident had taken place at Mr. Chow on Friday night but didn’t mention Foxx by name.

The department said officers responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at the restaurant at about 10:06 p.m. After an investigation, the department determined that the report was “unfounded” and was instead an “altercation between parties.”

A report documenting the “battery” was produced by officers, but as of Saturday no arrests have been made.
