Three missing Virginia children found alive in Alabama
Three children reported missing in Virginia were found in Alabama on Thursday.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Fusion Center received a law enforcement bulletin concerning an AMBER Alert for three missing children issued by the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse.
According to the VSP, Jai’Marcus Elijah Lewis, 10, Ja’Miya Tiana Lewis, eight and Ja’Liyah Monae Lewis, six, were all last seen at the bus stop at Bobby’s Way Apartment Complex in Fishersville, Virginia. They were believed to be traveling to Evergreen, Alabama, in a vehicle with their biological mother, Shanice Chante Davison, 35.
ALEA Troopers located the vehicle on Interstate 459 in Jefferson County and conducted a traffic stop where all three children were recovered safely, along with three adults, including Davison, at about 4:44 p.m.
“In a world where time is of the essence, the swift action of law enforcement and the vital intelligence from the Alabama Fusion Center, along with our fellow counterparts across state lines, remind us that every second counts in the mission to safeguard our children,” said ALEA Secretary Hal Taylor. “I commend all of our personnel, as well as all of our fellow counterparts in Virgina and Tennessee, and federal partners that worked tirelessly to ensure these three children were found safe.”
Davison was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail.
No further details are available as the investigation remains ongoing.

Preview and Final Score Prediction For No. 14 Virginia and Miami
After blowing out Georgia Tech on the road earlier this week, No. 14 Virginia looks to extend its winning streak to eight today when they host Miami. The Hurricanes come in at 21-5 and are in third place in the ACC Standings.
UVA will dedicate the John Paul Jones Arena court to Tony Bennett in a pregame ceremony. The four-time ACC Coach of the Year guided the Cavaliers to the 2019 NCAA Championship, two ACC Tournament titles, six ACC regular-season championships and 10 NCAA tournament appearances in 15 seasons. The Cavaliers have won seven consecutive games and are 12-1 at JPJ this season. UVA has scored 80 or more points in 16 games (most since 21 in 2000-01). The Cavaliers are averaging 81.9 points, most since 85 ppg in 2000-01. UVA ranks 16th in the NET rankings and 19th in the kenpom. com rankings.
Virginia is 17-13 all-time vs. Miami in the series that dates to 1965-66. UVA has won eight of the last nine meetings, including a four-game win streak at John Paul Jones Arena. Fifteen of the last 18 meetings between the teams have been decided by 11 points or less. UVA has limited Miami to 58 or fewer points in seven of the last nine meetings.
Who wins?
No. 14 Virginia raced to a 94-68 win at Georgia Tech on Wednesday, Feb. 18. UVA (23-3, 11-2 ACC) drilled 10 of its 14 3-pointers to hold a 59-27 halftime advantage over the Yellow Jackets (11-16, 2-12 ACC). Thijs De Ridder led four Cavaliers in double figures with 22 points, while Malik Thomas scored 17. Dallin Hall recorded his first career double-double with 12 points and 10 assists. Ugonna Onyenso and Johann Grünloh (11 points) each added four blocked shots for the Cavaliers. Jaeden Mustaf led Georgia Tech with 18 points.
Virginia ranks first in the ACC in rebounding (42.0), offensive rebounding (14.4) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (.295), second in field goal percentage defense (.394), rebounding margin (+9.5) and blocks (5.9 bpg), third in scoring defense (67.4 ppg), defensive rebounds (27.7 rpg) and scoring
margin (+14.3), fourth in 3-pointers (10.1) and assists (16.9 apg) and fifth in assist/turnover ratio (1.55).
Thijs De Ridder ranks 14th in scoring (15.9 ppg), seventh in field goal percentage (52.3%) and 18th in rebounds (6.5 rpg). Dallin Hall ranks first in assist/turnover ratio (3.3) and 12th in assists (4.3 apg). Ugonna Onyenso ranks second in blocks at 2.7 bpg, while Johann Grünloh ranks third in blocks at 2.1 bpg. Chance Mallory ranks second in assist/turnover ratio (3.0), fifth in steals (1.8 spg), 14th in assists (3.6 apg), and 20th in free throw percentage (75.8%). Jacari White ranks 16th in 3-pointers made per game (2.1)
Miami has been efficient with its offense, leading
the league in field goal percentage (50.5) and free
throw attempts per game (23.1) and is third in fastbreak
points (12.1) and rebound margin (8.5).
Tre Donaldson facilitates the offense with a team-high
153 assists and ranks fourth in the ACC and is 27th
nationally in the category.
Shelton Henderson ranks third in the conference
in field goal percentage at 59.1%, which ranks in the
top 35 nationally and is first in the country among all
freshmen.
Miami is going to pose a big challenge for UVA, but I think that the Cavaliers are going to win on the glass and on defense to pull out a victory and win thier eighth straight game.
Final Score: Virginia 83, Miami 77

Justice Department fires interim attorney for Eastern Virginia shortly after appointment
ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — Federal judges, in an effort to fill the lead prosecutor role for the Eastern District of Virginia, announced an interim appointee on Friday evening. One that was fired by the Justice Department before the day could end.
Chief Judge M. Hannah Lauck issued a statement Friday confirming the appointment of James M. Hundley as Interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Justice Department Deputy Director Todd Blanche, in a statement on social media at around 6:45 p.m., fired Hundley.
“EDVA judges do not pick our US Attorney. POTUS does. James Hundley, you’re fired,” Blanche wrote.
Hundley, who had 35 years of experience, including six years in the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, was set to fill a position that was, in effect, left open after a federal judge determined the Trump administration illegally appointed Lindsey Halligan.
Halligan remained in the office for several weeks after the ruling but ultimately stepped down from the Justice Department in January.
Hundley took the oath of office in Richmond, according to the federal court.
Federal judges are allowed to appoint interim attorneys after a certain time has passed and no presidential nominee has been made.

(WDBJ) – February 20, 1960:
A group of students from Virginia Union University walked into Woolworth’s department store.
The students filled all the seats at the lunch counter and patiently waited to be served in one of the Commonwealth’s first sit-ins.
Instead of serving the protestors, management closed the counter.
