On the finish of June, the Oklahoma Sooners had been ranked thirty fifth in 247Sports staff recruiting rankings and many individuals thought the sky was falling. The Sooners had been doomed. It was as if we had realized nothing from the Lincoln Riley departure and the next recruit-exodus: It’s not really easy to kill the Sooners.
On June 30, I even wrote an article telling everybody to calm down. “Rankings imply completely nothing in June,” I stated.
Only a week and a half later, Oklahoma’s on the verge of a high 10 recruiting class. The Sooners at the moment are eleventh in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings for the category of 2023 and are within the operating for a number of extra high-end recruits. The one Large 12 staff the Sooners path in recruiting for 2023 is the Longhorns.
What does this imply?

Lincoln Riley’s departure hit the Sooners simply as exhausting on the recruiting path because it did on the sector. Riley was an amazing recruiter, and USC will little question profit from that.
One thing that Riley excels at is his utilization of social media on this trendy age of faculty soccer. That appeared like one thing OU was going to overlook. Nonetheless, the brand new workers seems to have picked up the place Riley left off on social media, and the commits themselves are serving to out.
Right here’s what Sooners QB commit Jackson Arnold needed to say when Adepoju Adebawore dedicated:
Gamers who’re undecided are completely swayed by what others of their class resolve. Oklahoma has already gotten previous the exhausting half: getting the primary few recruits.

OU will proceed to scoop up these younger males. It will likely be attention-grabbing to see each the place OU finally ends up falling within the closing rankings and what Brent Venables’ workers finally ends up molding these recruits into.
