Perry County to receive $11.6 million for improvements after flooding
PERRY COUNTY, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear introduced Tuesday that $11.6 million will go to Perry County for enhancements on infrastructure, water therapy and public security following the floods in July.
The funds will go towards a brand new water therapy plant in Buckhorn, a brand new ambulance station for Hazard and Perry County and street resurfacing for Coal Fields Industrial Park and Perry County Park.
“The tasks we’re asserting right now are going to enhance the well being and wellbeing of our Japanese Kentucky communities,” Beshear wrote in a press launch. “We’re making good on our promise to be with Japanese Kentucky for the lengthy haul. We’ve got brighter days on our horizon.”
Beshear and Congressman Hal Rogers introduced a ceremonial test totaling $8,893,200 to the Metropolis of Hazard and the Metropolis of Buckhorn to assemble the water therapy plant. - $893,200 in Appalachian Regional Fee funding, administered on the state stage by DLG.
Beshear stated $1,789,000 in CDBG funding will go towards to the Metropolis of Hazard and Perry County for a brand new ambulance station. The challenge will renovate the previous Producer’s Provide Constructing in Hazard and switch it into an ambulance station serving northern Perry County. Renovations will embrace putting in six storage door bays, storage doorways, a brand new roof and repaving service drives.
