City of Grovetown hosts annual fan drive as temperatures rise
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The city of Grovetown is trying to help people deal with rising temps with its annual fan drive.
You can drop off your new or lightly used fans at the city hall.
Jordan Johnson, the public information officer for the city, says they need help from the community to make this possible.
“Giving folks the opportunity who may not be able to beat the heat a chance to come in and get a free fan here thanks to the donations of our citizens,” said Johnson.
If you need a fan, you can go to city hall and pick one up.
You can find the fan drive at the help and information desk inside the city hall.

Celebrate Pride month in the CSRA at these weekend events
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Pride events are coming our way to the CSRA before June wraps up.
On Friday, the VA Augusta health care system will host an event from noon to 1 p.m.
It’ll be inside the uptown campus auditorium.
Organizers plan to celebrate the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community from employees and veteran patients under their care.
Then Saturday is the 14th annual Augusta Pride festival, which is free to all.
It’s considered one of the largest LGBTQ+ festivals in the state.
Vendors and many more resources will be set up at the Augusta Common.
It should start around 10 a.m.

Augusta man wanted in connection to aggravated assault case
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in searching for a man wanted in connection to an aggravated assault case.
The sheriff’s office says Jonathan Levante Dawson, 27, is wanted in reference to an aggravated assault incident that occurred on the 3100 block of Skinner Mill Road on Thursday.
Deputies say Dawson should be considered armed and dangerous.
