Two Tight Ends Leave Team for Razorbacks
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas will see some movement on the depth chart at tight end. Coach Sam Pittman announced that both redshirt junior Var’Keyes Gumms and redshirt sophomore Ty Washington are both no longer with the team following a violation of team rules.
Gumms, after transferring as a four-star prospect according to 247Sports from North Texas, caught just four passes for 26 yards across 16 games. He had been mostly passed on the depth chart by the likes of Andreas Paaske, who caught two touchdowns in the Razorbacks’ 58-25 win over Mississippi State.
Washington filled in admirably following the injury to Luke Hasz in 2023. He started three games and caught 11 passes for 170 yards and even led the team in the game against Ole Miss with seven catches for 90 yards in a 27-20 loss.
Pittman expects that there will be a domino effect on the tight end depth after losing two players at the same time.
” I think they can.” Pittman said about other tight ends stepping up. “Maddox Lassiter has played a lot of ball so I have a lot of confidence in him. We also got Josh Street ready when we were banged up a little bit, and we’ll have a few more ideas for that position.”
Arkansas kicks off against Ole Miss inside Razorback Stadium 11 a.m. Saturday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN. You can also listen to the game on the Razorback Sports Network all across Arkansas.

Motorists in Arkansas see gas prices drop
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – In the last week, the average gas price in Arkansas fell by 5.9 cents to $2.76, according to GasBuddy.com.
That’s 4.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stands at 29.5 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
The national average fell 5.3 cents per gallon to $3.07.
“The national average price of gasoline has continued its decline over the last week as oil prices have sunk due to Israel avoiding attacks on Iran’s oil infrastructure, and seasonal decreases in demand are pushing gasoline lower, as is normal for this time of year,” Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy said.
He says while many Americans may credit the upcoming election for the declines, politicians have little influence over the strong seasonal forces that drive prices lower in autumn.

Kickoff Time, TV Channel Revealed for Ole Miss Football vs. Arkansas
The No. 19 Ole Miss Rebels are coming off a home win over the Oklahoma Sooners, but the road doesn’t get any easier this week with a trip to face the Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville.
Ole Miss has only won twice all-time in Fayetteville, but they will look to buck that trend this weekend to keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive and earn a winning record in SEC play. Now, the Rebels and Hogs know when they will kick off and what television channel will carry their game.
On Sunday, the Southeastern Conference announced multiple kickoff times and television designations for the coming weekend, and Ole Miss and Arkansas are scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. CT with the game being televised on ESPN.
This marks the second straight week where the Rebels will play at 11 o’clock, and it is their first road game of the season to earn that kickoff time. So far in 11 a.m. kicks, Ole Miss is 1-1 with last week’s win over Oklahoma and an earlier loss to the Kentucky Wildcats.
