Two dead in fatal crash with animal in Pittsburg County


A Norman man and lady have been killed in a deadly collision with an animal in Pittsburg County, the Oklahoma Freeway Patrol has reported.

The collision occurred at roughly 7:45 p.m. on the Indian Nation Turnpike 15 miles north of McAlester.

In keeping with OHP, Christopher Pierson, 33, was driving a 2014 Jeep Patriot northbound on the Indian Nation Turnpike. The car hit a deer, ran off the fitting facet of roadway, struck a tree, and overturned right into a creek. Darci Pierson, 28, a passenger within the car, was ejected 5 toes. Christopher Pierson was pinned for about 45 minutes. Each have been pronounced lifeless on the scene. 

Neither the driving force or passenger have been sporting their seatbelt.

NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. (KDKA) — North Huntingdon is moving to a new way to send alerts to residents.

The township says residents will soon be able to update contact information, subscribe to different alerts, and get push notifications through an app.

The transition is set for July 15, 2024, and the township says all existing alert subscribers will be shifted to the new system called Everbridge, but people will need to create an Everbridge account to use the new features.
