Groundbreaking for ‘The Embrace’ Monument Honoring Martin Luther King Jr. & Coretta Scott King


An official groundbreaking ceremony was held in Boston Wednesday for a monument to honor Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.

The group King Boston has been working to put in “The Embrace” by artist Hank Willis Thomas and MASS Design Group on the historic Boston Widespread for years. Fittingly, the groundbreaking was on Wednesday, on Coretta Scott King’s birthday.

The 22-foot excessive sculpture might be created from mirror end bronze and have arms entwined. It will likely be constructed on the Tremont Road facet of the Boston Widespread between the bandstand and the customer’s heart. The realm was already sectioned off Wednesday morning.
