FIRST ON FOX: A Boston-area college board denied a Hispanic church’s utility to open a non-public college due to animus towards the church’s spiritual beliefs, legal professionals declare, and the church is threatening to sue the college board if it continues to disclaim the applying.

“The hostility displayed by the Somerville Public Faculty Committee is outrageous,” Justin Butterfield, deputy basic counsel at First Liberty, stated within the assertion. “The federal government can not ban a non secular college as a result of they disagree with its spiritual beliefs. Doing so violates federal constitutional and statutory legislation.”

“The varsity’s place on homosexuality and creationism make it troublesome to see how an intensive science and well being curriculum is feasible,” the doc learn. “The varsity’s strategy to scholar providers and counseling seems to devalue evidence-based psychology and its emphasis on approaches rooted within the perception that psychological sickness is attributable to sin and demons is unscientific and dangerous. … Total, the college was fully opposite to the values of SPS and the thought of teaching the entire baby as being inclusive.”

“The Committee’s hostility towards Vida Actual’s spiritual beliefs violates each Massachusetts legislation and the First Modification,” the letter warns. “We write to you now in hopes that the Committee’s current conduct stems from a misunderstanding of the legislation and the Committee’s function in evaluating personal college functions from spiritual colleges like RLLC. US forces destroy Houthi drones as terror group continues aggressive actions at sea

U.S. forces in the Middle East have destroyed Houthi drones in Yemen in the past 24 hours, the military said Friday. 

Separately, forces with the U.S. Central Command destroyed three uncrewed Houthi surface vessels operating of the Yemeni coast, CENTCOM said. 

“It was determined these weapons presented an imminent threat to U.S., coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region,” a Centcom statement said. “These actions were taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure.”

U.S. forces have engaged with Iran-backed Houthi drones and militia for months following the group’s assault on commercial ships in the Mediterranean Sea. The group began targeting merchant ships in opposition to Israel’s war against Hamas. 

Last week, Israel launched surgical strikes against the Houthis after the terror group fired a lethal drone into Tel Aviv, resulting in the death of an Israeli and at least 10 injured and severe damage to buildings. 

The strike took place near the U.S. consulate building in Tel Aviv.

“The fire that is currently burning in Yemen, is seen across the Middle East,” Israel’s Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant said after the strikes in Yemen. “The first time that the Houthis harmed an Israeli citizen, we struck them. And we will do this in any place where it may be required.”

BOSTON (WHDH) – A United Flight bound for Boston was diverted to Washington-Dulles on Sunday after a customer experienced a medical issue.

United Flight UA2477 from Houston is now undergoing a deep clean and the airline is working to get customers on their way to Boston. The flight had 155 passengers and six crew members.

No passengers or crew members needed medical assistance.

No additional information was immediately available.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh is teaming up with the Pittsburgh Steelers to host a donation drive during Steelers training camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa.

The donation drive takes place on Wednesday, July 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Interested donors are asked to bring pet food, toys, bedding, and cleaning supplies to the donation site next to Chuck Noll Field.

“We’re ready to blitz the field with donations and make a big play for our animals,” said Christi Robinette, Board Chair of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh. “With the support of the Steelers and their amazing fans, we’re confident we can score big and provide for the animals in our care as well as those in our community.”
