The U.S. Small Business Administration announced on Wednesday the availability of low-interest federal disaster loans to private nonprofit organizations in Camden County.
According to a news release from SBA, the declaration comes in response to a round of severe storms that came through Camden County between March 14-15.
The storm system caused severe storms, high winds and wildfires.
The loans will be available for the following Missouri counties: Bollinger, Butler, Callaway, Camden, Carter, Dunklin, Franklin, Howell, Iron, Madison, New Madrid, Oregon, Ozark, Perry, Reynolds, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard and Wayne.
Those who apply may be eligible for a loan amount increase for up to 20% of their damage, which would be verified by the SBA for mitigation purposes. Eligible mitigation improvements might include insulating pipes, walls and attics, weather stripping doors and windows and installing storm windows to help protect property from future potential disasters, according to the news release.
The SBA said it will process all applications as efficiently as possible and that applications will be prioritized in the order they are received. The deadline for property damage applications is July 22. The deadline to return economic injury applications is Feb. 23, 2026.
Eligible residents can apply online.
