The Boilermaker train will looks to keep on humming down the track to extend its lead within the Big Ten.

Behind reigning national player of the year in Zach Edey, No. 2 Purdue basketball (22-2, 11-2 Big Ten play) will take an eight-game win streak into Thursday’s conference matchup with Minnesota (15-8, 6-6) at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette.

Matt Painter’s Boilermakers, who rank No. 2 in the NET rankings and hold the No. 1 overall seed in NCAA Tournament projections, are coming off a commanding win over Indiana over the weekend in which Edey hit his first career 3-pointer.

It’s the first and only matchup between both squads in the regular season this year. Purdue took both games against Minnesota last year and leads the all-time series 100-81. The Boilermakers have not lost to the Gophers at Mackey since 2017.

Minnesota enters Thursday’s matchup coming off a 1-1 week with a win over Michigan State and a loss on the road to Iowa at Carver Hawkeye Arena on Sunday.

The Boilermakers and Gophers will square off on the Big Ten Network. The game came be streamed on either the Fox Sports Go app or Fubo, which carries the Big Ten Network and offers a free trial to potential subscribers.

Brandon Gaudin (play-by-play) and former Purdue forward Robbie Hummel (analyst) will be on the call.

Minnesota weather: Snow totals so far, light snow expected overnight


The first major snowstorm of the season in Minnesota brought messy roads, with the snow expected to begin again overnight.

Snow fell from the afternoon well into the evening. We are currently in a lull from the snow, but light snow is expected later Tuesday night. 

Here are snow totals so far from across the Twin Cities:

Snow expected overnight into Wednesday morning

What’s next:

The snow has stopped, for now. Temperatures are starting to rise a bit during this lull of snow. Another band of flurries is expected later Tuesday night into the overnight, making for a more difficult early morning commute.

Submissions now open for MnDOT’s latest Name a Snowplow contest



Brush off your best puns and defrost your pop culture references, because the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Name a Snowplow contest is back.

Submissions for the 2025 contest are open through noon on Dec. 19. MnDOT staff will review and whittle down the submissions, then open the process to a public vote in January. Eight names will be chosen, one for each of MnDOT’s districts.

There are a few rules for submissions: one per person, no vulgarities, no political names and no past winners. They’re also limited to 30 characters.
