Mike Florio shreds Kirk Cousins during Minnesota radio interview

“Joe Burrow is the anti-Kirk Cousins.”
That is what NBC Sports activities NFL insider and creator of ProFootballTalk.com Mike Florio stated when showing on Twin Cities radio station KFAN FM 100.3 on Wednesday, which prompted 9-to-Midday host Paul Allen to apologize on Twitter.
Initially considered a tongue-in-cheek lashing of the Minnesota Vikings quarterback, Florio made clear that he was useless critical.
So what was all stated? It was way over Florio saying Joe Burrow is best than Kirk Cousins. Florio barked a passionate argument for why he thinks Cousins simply does not have the moxie to steer the Vikings, or any group for that matter, to the promised land.

“When the lights get vivid,” Florio started, “, it is a very actual human dynamic. You’ve got acquired one recreation, your entire season is using on it. Do you crumble or do you rise? Joe Burrow rises. Kirk crumbles. I am sorry, but it surely’s true. And I am beginning to put Josh Allen within the Kirk class.”
He continued: “Kirk does not have it. You possibly can take your rose-colored glasses and shove them up your butt,” Florio stated to Allen, who has been the radio play-by-play announcer for the Vikings for the final two-plus many years.
“The checkdown shorty to Hockenson, doesn’t a crumble make,” Allen replied, referencing the 4th-and-8 play within the fourth quarter of Minnesota’s playoff loss to the Giants through which Cousins threw quick to Hockenson to seal the house loss.
“There are moments, there are alternatives. They’re fleeting. These moments that youngsters dream about, after they’re counting the clock down, it is the final play of the sport; you wait all of your life for that second. When that second arrives, what do you do? There is a consistency. Some guys step up, some guys do not,” stated Florio. “Wanting the sticks. You bought Justin Jefferson on the market – a finalist for MVP – and you do not throw him the ball? I do not care if he is double-covered.”

Souhan: Is Anthony Edwards the next Kirby Puckett in Minnesota sports history?

“Just being around him on a daily basis, man, it’s incredible,” Wolves forward Julius Randle said. “He never has a bad day. He never comes in moody, not wanting to talk or not wanting to work every day. He comes in, he puts on his hard hat, he works hard, gives it all his effort. He’s always talkative, communicative. That’s who he is every single day.”
Asked to describe Edwards as a teammate, Wolves center Rudy Gobert said, “I need more time to answer, so I can write a book. He’s highly competitive. He’s a very funny guy. He has extremely high confidence. He speaks his mind and he’s always joking around. … We have good times because of his genuineness. Not everyone has that.”
Said Wolves guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker: “The thing about Ant is his personality, and how much pressure he takes off the game, and the confidence he has in himself. Which, to me, is why he’s Anthony Edwards.”
The Wolves are eight victories away from Edwards winning a title and moving into Puckett’s pantheon.
