A 26-year-old man was attacked and stabbed by a gaggle at a downtown CTA station Wednesday evening in what was the third assault on CTA in as many days.

The sufferer had been standing on the CTA “L” platform on the Cermak/ McCormick Place Inexperienced Line station when a gaggle of three approached him and demanded his property.
They then bodily assaulted him, with one attacker stabbing the sufferer in the appropriate arm with a knife.

The attackers managed to steal the sufferer’s property and the sufferer ran away from the group. It wasn’t till after the assault that the sufferer realized he had been injured and sought medical therapy at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He’s in good situation, in keeping with officers.
That is the third assault this week alone to happen at a CTA station.
At round 8:30 pm Monday, a Pink Line prepare operator was lured from the prepare when requested for assist in retrieving a cellphone. The operator was allegedly shoved onto the tracks however was not harm. Later Tuesday, a 43-year-old man was overwhelmed by a gaggle of individuals and suffered bruising and swelling.

Michigan police are investigating the mysterious drowning death of a father of two and Navy veteran who was last seen with family at a popular vacation spot in Frankenmuth – a Bavarian-inspired town between Saginaw and Flint.
The Frankenmuth Police Department (FPD) and its dive teams found and recovered Robert Loren Bacon, 52, from the Cass River near Heritage Park on Jan. 4.
Bacon’s ex-wife, Melissa McLenna, said Bacon was last seen on Dec. 27 around 7:20 p.m. at the Bavarian Inn Lodge, where he had been attending a family gathering.
“Was going to his car to get something and was coming back to the pool area to join his family,” McLenna wrote on Facebook on Dec. 29. “He never returned to his family at the pool. Cell phone is going straight to voicemail.”

The FPD said Bacon’s family reported the 52-year-old missing on Dec. 30.
Following an extensive search involving multiple law enforcement entities and teams, along with search dogs and drones, authorities found Bacon in the Cass River and determined his preliminary cause of death to be drowning.

A final determination from the Saginaw County Medical Examiner’s Office is pending.

Police continue to investigate Bacon’s death.
“I have no words to describe how we feel we are so sad [sic] I just want to say thank you to everyone that helped look for Robert thank you to all that prayed for us and that are continuing to pray for us [sic],” McLenna wrote on Facebook on Jan. 4.

(CBS DETROIT) – Detroit Lions hats are now temporarily part of the Detroit Police Department’s attire.
Chief Todd A. Bettison announced Wednesday that officers can wear either a Detroit Lions skullcap or ballcap when they are in uniform. It’s just one of the ways that community leaders and fans are showing support for the Lions as the NFL playoffs continue.
“Congratulations to the Lions on their historic season! Go Lions!!” the department’s Facebook post said.
The Lions took a 31-9 win over the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, which gave them home-field advantage and the top seed in the NFC playoffs. The team currently has a bye week for the divisional round during the weekend of Jan. 18.
The Super Bowl is on Feb. 9.
On Monday, Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard authorized his staff to wear Lions baseball caps and beanies through the playoff run. The Spirit of Detroit statue also has been attired in a Honolulu blue Lions jersey.
The newest “tourist attraction” in Milwaukee is the abandoned boat stuck since October at Bradford Beach. With 60 Google Reviews as of Thursday and listed as a “tourist attraction” on Google Maps, the location lovingly named “The Minnow” – a reference to the S.S. Minnow of Gilligan’s Island notoriety – has a perfect 5-star rating.
Nate Weiss, listed as a Local Guide on his Google account, wrote that visiting the beached boat is “a uniquely Milwaukee experience.” There’s actually two Google Map listings for the abandoned vessel. The other, terrifically labeled a “religious destination,” unfortunately is uncreatively titled “Milwaukee boat.”

The Minnow’s actual name is Deep Thought. The 33-footer slid ashore Oct. 13. Its owners, identified by WISN-TV as Richard and Sherry Wells of Mississippi, reportedly got caught up in a storm and ran out of gas. They were rescued, but efforts to pull it free thus far have been unsuccessful. Now with the shoreline ice thickening, there’s no hope of dislodging it until spring.
