Crews to remove final car from Wyoming derailment later this week
WYOMING, Ohio (WXIX) – Works crews are continuing to remove the railcars that crashed during a train derailment in Wyoming on Saturday.
In a statement on Facebook on Monday, the Lockland Fire Department said two of the wrecked rail cars had been removed and crews had begun to remove product from a third.
The department said Wyoming Avenue is still closed.
The three cars were on the CSX line traveling through Wyoming when they derailed at around 8 p.m., spilling white pellets. Emergency crews evacuated everyone within 500 feet of the derailment.
Residents were allowed to return home on Sunday morning.
