Wildfire burning nearly 200 acres in Conejos County


CONEJOS COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — A wildfire burning within the Rio Grande Nationwide Forest unfold rapidly within the south-central a part of the state close to the border of New Mexico.

Saturday afternoon, Freeway 17 was closed between County Street F (9 miles south of the Antonito space) and County Street 731A (close to Cumbres Cross) from Mile Level 28 to Mile Level 17 attributable to hearth exercise.

The Menkhaven Hearth is burning close to Horca northwest of Fox Creek. At 6 p.m. it was reported at roughly 20 acres.
