Man assaulted by as many as 30 teenage bicyclists in Los Angeles, police say

A man was brutally attacked in Los Angeles, California, by a large group of teenage bicyclists, according to police.

The incident happened at about 5 p.m. Saturday in the Carthay neighborhood, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a press release.

Officers responded to the area of San Vicente Boulevard and Carrillo Drive after a report of an assault.

Witnesses told police that an argument had broken out between the man and a group of about 20 to 30 suspects believed to be 16- to 18-years-old.

A couple of suspects struck and kicked the man’s vehicle before he exited his vehicle to confront them. A physical altercation then ensued, leading to more suspects joining in on the fight, police said.

Police said the large group of suspects “immediately overwhelmed” the man. They punched and kicked the man, even after he had been knocked down to the ground.

The suspects fled the area on their bicycles southbound on Carrillo Drive after witnesses attempted to intervene, police said.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene to attend to the man. He sustained minor visible injuries and declined to be transported to the hospital.

Police are still searching for the suspects and are asking the public for assistance in locating those responsible for the attack.

Suspect sought in Kailua drive-by shooting


HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A drive-by shooting road rage incident in Kailua has prompted an attempted murder police investigation.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, at around noon Sunday, an unknown man driving a white Ford van was involved in an alleged road rage incident with a 25-year-old man and his 24-year-old female passenger while they were inside their vehicle.

Police said the suspect allegedly displayed his handgun and then fired, hitting the vehicle.

No one was hurt.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at (808) 955-8300.

Severe weather postpones 16th annual Idaho Patriot Thunder Ride


The 16th annual Idaho Patriot Thunder Ride was postponed after June 26’s severe thunderstorm created unsafe weather and road conditions for riders and event-goers.

Originally scheduled for June 28, the annual ride honors active military, veterans and fallen soldiers. 100% of the event’s proceeds will go to Operation Warm Heart and the Idaho Guard & Reserve Family Support Fund.

Organizers say the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 26.

“The safety of our riders, volunteers, and the public will always be our top priority,” Idaho Patriot Thunder Ride said in a Facebook post. “While we know many have been looking forward to this event, we believe postponing is the right decision to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for everyone.”

All events and scheduled activities will take place in July at the originally scheduled time blocks, organizers said.

The motorcyclists will ride in a law enforcement-escorted motorcade along eastbound I-84.

ITD warns that drivers should expect temporary ramp closures, rolling slowdowns and delays from Meridian to Mountain Home during the event.
