Women arrested for damaging other driver’s car during altercation in Bell
Three girls who broken the automotive of one other driver after which fled the scene final week have been arrested.
The three girls have been wished in connection to an incident that occurred Thursday morning in Bell.
In keeping with the Bell Police Division, the ladies stopped one other driver’s automobile on the 4600 block of Florence Avenue and commenced damaging it. Police mentioned the combat was apparently linked to a visitors collision, though specifics of the crash weren’t launched.
The three girls then fled the scene in a 2006 Audi A6 sedan. Police characterised the assault as an “assault with a lethal weapon.”

Man dies in the hospital 6 days after Southern California shooting
Officials announced that a man died in the hospital on Sunday, six days after he was hit multiple times in a Riverside County shooting.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 42-year-old Rene Diaz from Elsinore.
According to preliminary reports, deputies with the Perris Sheriff’s Station were dispatched just before midnight on Dec. 23 to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 2500 block of Spectacular Bid Street.
Upon arriving at the residential area, the sheriff’s office said deputies found Diaz suffering from what was only described as “multiple gunshot wounds.”
Details are limited, authorities did not immediately disclose where on his person Diaz was shot, or where he was found.
“Deputies rendered medical aid and requested paramedics to the scene,” the sheriff’s office said in a release. “Diaz was transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment, where he remained in critical condition.”
Diaz remained in critical condition until he succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 29.
The sheriff’s office said that as of Sunday night, Central Homicide Unit investigators do not have any suspects in custody.
“Due to this being an active investigation, no further information will be released at this time,” officials stated.

Los Angeles police shoot, critically injure 15-year-old who allegedly opened fire on officers
A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after police shot him during a gun fight in Los Angeles on Thursday, authorities confirmed.
The incident took place at about 6:40 p.m. in the area of Hooper Avenue and 92nd Street. Officers on patrol spotted a male suspect spray painting a wall and stopped their vehicle to investigate.
When the officers stopped, a second suspect appeared and produced a handgun. Police said that suspect, a 15-year-old boy, then opened fire on the officers.
The officers then exited their vehicle and returned fire at the teen. He was struck, but managed to get inside an awaiting vehicle being driven by a man, along with the vandalizing suspect, and leave the scene.
That led to a pursuit, which eventually ended in Compton, where the vehicle was stopped.
All three suspects were arrested. The driver was identified as 20-year-old Kevin Diaz. The other two suspects, including the boy who was shot, are both 15, and their identities were not revealed.
A loaded .45 caliber handgun and a shotgun shell casing were found in the vehicle.
The wounded boy was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition, police said. The other two were not injured and were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on a police officer.
No officers were injured. No additional details were immediately made available.

Critical stretch of 5 Freeway partially shut down after semi-truck crash during holiday travel rush
Multiple lanes of the northbound 5 Freeway in Los Angeles County have been shut down following a crash involving a semi-truck during one of the busiest travel periods of the year, and the closure is set to last well into the morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was first reported just before 3 a.m. Sunday south of the Parker Road exit in Castaic.
The truck drove off the roadway, taking out part of the guardrail as it did so and falling into a waterway, authorities told KTLA.
Many precautions are being taken to ensure that the fuel from the truck doesn’t leak into the waterway; officials confirmed an hour after the crash that the #3 and #4 lanes would be closed for approximately six hours.
“[The waterway] basically will drain into the ocean, so we are going to control that spillage and make sure and make sure there isn’t any fuel that goes into the waterway as we extract the vehicle,” said Vincent Mendez of Freeway Towing Company, one of the agencies working to clear the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the driver of the semi truck was said to have been transported from the scene to receive medical attention.
Authorities are advising anyone who needs to travel through the Grapevine on Sunday morning to drive with caution and pack their patience.
