Suspect arrested after man found shot to death in Pomona
A suspect was arrested after a man was found shot to death in Pomona.
On Tuesday, Pomona police identified the suspect as Jose Oquendo Jr., 30, of Pomona.
On March 4, police responded to reports of a man down on the 1600 block of Indian Hill Boulevard at around 7:40 p.m.
Officers found the victim, James Bunch, 31, of Pomona suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The gunman had fled the scene before police arrived.
Detectives later identified Oquendo as the primary suspect. He was taken into custody and is being held on $3.05 million bail.
On March 10, he was charged with murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
