Police seek hit-and-run driver in woman's death in South L.A.
The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for the driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles Thursday night.
The pedestrian, a woman believed to be in her 60s, was hit on Crenshaw Boulevard at about 10:30 p.m., police said in a news release. She was declared dead at the scene, and her identity has not yet been released.
The vehicle that hit her, possibly a tan-colored sedan, was headed south on Crenshaw when it struck her, and it fled onto Vernon Avenue, then Victoria Avenue, police said.

Hospital needs help identifying man found unconscious in downtown Los Angeles
A hospital needs help identifying a male patient who was found injured and unconscious in downtown Los Angeles.
The man is believed to be in his 30s, according to the Los Angeles General Medical Center.
He was found injured on the ground on Omar Street and has been hospitalized since June 22.
He stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 176 pounds. He has brown eyes, dark brown hair and tattoos across his upper body.
He did not have any personal belongings to help staff identify him or contact loved ones. Workers did not disclose the nature of his injuries.
