Authorities are advising residents of one Ventura County neighborhood to be on the lookout for a bear that was spotted ambling through a driveway at the end of a cul-de-sac. 

The Santa Paula Police Department was first notified of the bear sighting early Thursday morning, a Facebook post from the department indicated. 

Where it was first spotted was not immediately released. 

Almost 24 hours later at 5 a.m. Friday, the bear was seen again, this time maneuvering between parked cars and a garage on Leavens Court, located off Richard Road in Santa Paula. 

Video posted by the department shows the bear – which several commenters speculated to be a cub – frolicking across the driveway of a home.

According to police, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service was dispatched to confirm the bear’s location, but they could not find it. 

The bear was last seen heading south from Leavens Court, authorities said.

A man was arrested for allegedly stealing over $100,000 worth of items from stores across Southern California.

The suspect was identified as Akop Galadzhyan, 50, from Los Angeles, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

Galadzhyan is a suspected member of an organized retail theft crew targeting businesses across the Southland, authorities said.

On May 21, Galadzhyan was arrested while walking out of a Thousand Oaks store where he allegedly stole over $1,000 worth of merchandise.

Photos of the arrest showed a large number of stolen grocery items including ribeye steaks, bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne and Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon, packs of Red Bull, Starbucks coffee, Fiji water, Topo Chico, some clothing and more.

Investigators found evidence that reportedly linked the suspect to at least a dozen other retail thefts across Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and Simi Valley.

He was also accused of stealing over $100,000 worth of merchandise from Target stores throughout Southern California.

Detectives are working to locate additional suspects linked to Galadzhyan and the series of retail thefts.

Galadzhyan was arrested and booked into the Sheriff’s Pre-Trial Detention Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail. His arraignment hearing is scheduled for May 23 at the Ventura County Superior Court.

The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a car that struck an elderly woman twice in Hollywood on Saturday, severely injuring her before fleeing without stopping to help or identify themselves.

The vehicle, which appears to be a black 2004-10 Pontiac sedan with rear tinted windows and no front license plate, hit a pedestrian along Cole Avenue just north of Santa Monica Boulevard just after 6:30 p.m., police said on X, formerly Twitter.

Surveillance video shows the car smashing into the pedestrian, then shifting into reverse without ever coming to a stop.

The car then turns around on Cole Avenue and drives back over the spot where the senior appeared to have fallen before fleeing the scene.

Police did not identify the victim except as an 84-year-old woman who was “severely injured” and remains in serious condition, but her family identified her to KTLA as Raquel Godoy.

Godoy suffered multiple fractures to her pelvis, broke her clavicle and ribs, and has a break in her foot as well, her family said.

She underwent surgery on Monday to install plates and screws, and she’s wearing a neck brace to restrict movement that could further injure her collarbone and ribs.

It remains to be seen if she’ll need more surgery for fractures in her spine near her neck.

A reward of up to $25,000 is available for anyone with information that can help track down the driver.
