Authorities recover body from Los Angeles River
First responders were dispatched to a part of the Los Angeles River in Boyle Heights on Wednesday morning after a dead person was reported near the water.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the original call came in at 6:25 a.m. near the 7th Street Bridge.
The body could be seen from Sky5 on the bank of the river near the inches of flowing water.
Nearby rail traffic and 7th Street Bridge vehicle traffic will be affected, LAFD said.
“That would be the 91 Perris Valley line, the Orange County line and the Riverside County line…Metrolink trains heading in and out of Union Station will be affected by the body recovery that’s taking place here,” KTLA 5 traffic reporter Ginger Chan said at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.
The decedent was only identified as a adult man. His cause of death remains unknown.

Hospital needs help identifying man found unconscious in downtown Los Angeles
A hospital needs help identifying a male patient who was found injured and unconscious in downtown Los Angeles.
The man is believed to be in his 30s, according to the Los Angeles General Medical Center.
He was found injured on the ground on Omar Street and has been hospitalized since June 22.
He stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 176 pounds. He has brown eyes, dark brown hair and tattoos across his upper body.
He did not have any personal belongings to help staff identify him or contact loved ones. Workers did not disclose the nature of his injuries.
