Summer Restaurant Week has returned with more options than ever for dining deals in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia from Monday, Aug. 12 to Sunday, Aug. 18.

Dozens of restaurants will offer deals for multi-course brunches and lunches ($25 pr $35) or dinners ($40, $55 or $65). Some menus offer wine pairings, cocktail specials and to-go options.

More than 350 restaurants across the D.C. area are participating, serving up an impressive 75 different cuisines, the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) said.

Some restaurants started offering deals early, including Michelin-starred Bresca and popular Balkan restaurant Ambar.

News4’s favorite foodie Eun Yang says Restaurant Week is a great time to sample a new restaurant, try a new cuisine or find a good deal.

Her recommendations?

• Ellē, a cute Mount Pleasant café and bakery that transforms into a restaurant in the evening, is offering lunch and dinner.
• Hiraya, a Filipino restaurant on H Street, is serving brunch that includes a nonalcoholic beverage for $25, or a $65 three-course dining experience for dinner.
• Namak is a relatively new restaurant in Adams Morgan with lots of tasty dishes, Eun says. Their restaurant week menu begins with a salad, dip or mezze before you choose an entrée and dessert.
• Hungry in Maryland? Pennyroyal Station in Mount Ranier is a perennial favorite with classic dishes on their $40 dinner menu.
• In Virginia, Arlington’s Sabores Tapas Bar has plenty of fun things to try.

Pro tip #1: Do not skip lunch (or brunch!)

Lunch and brunch are when the cheapest $25 menus shine.

Cornelia Poku, the woman behind Black Girls Explore D.C. on Instagram, TikTok and Twitter once gave us advice a tip that we continue to follow.

“Do not miss out on the $25 three-course lunch options. They are harder to find, but there are so many to choose from,” Poku said. “Check out the website and dig around to see who is offering lunch, and then double check the menu to make sure it costs $25.”

More standouts at the lowest price point: Del Mar (The Wharf), Duke’s (Woodley Park, Dupont, Foggy Bottom), El Tamarindo (Adams Morgan), Fiola Mare (Georgetown), The Daily Dish (Silver Spring), LaPorta’s (Alexandria), Lulu’s Wine Garden (U Street), Ruthie’s All Day (Arlington), Supra (Shaw) and Tabla (Park View).

Be careful to check when restaurants are offering brunch or lunch to make sure you can order from the menu you want.

Pro tip #2: Check out Michelin-starred restaurants and award-winning eateries

If you’re willing to spend a bit more, you can snag a deal on Michelin-approved meals.

Bresca, the Michelin-starred Parisian bistro on 14^th Street, is offering Restaurant Week deals throughout August.

Michelin-starred restaurants Elcielo in NoMa’s La Cosecha Market, Gravitas in Ivy City and Xiquet in Glover Park are also participating.

RAMMY Award winners are on the menu, too, including Perry’s in Adams Morgan, Mi Vida’s three locations and Fava Pot’s Falls Church location.

Pro tip #3: Meal plan with friends

“If you’re comfortable with sharing, remember that the more friends you go with, the more dishes you can taste and try! Who doesn’t love a bite of something different?” Poku said.

Inviting a larger group works particularly well for restaurants with a lot of options, like Ingle Korean Steakhouse in Tysons Corner. Their $65 prix-fixe dinner has many options for tasty sides to accompany high-end grilled meats. It’s almost the same as their regular menu, but $15 cheaper.

WASHINGTON — WASHINGTON (AP) — José Tena hit a game-winning RBI single in the 10th inning hours after being called up from the minor leagues, and the Washington Nationals defeated the Los Angeles Angels 5-4 on Saturday night to earn their second walk-off victory in as many days.

James Wood homered and Alex Call had his fifth consecutive multi-hit game for Washington, which has won back-to-back games since sinking to a season-high 12 games under .500 on Thursday.

Tena’s second RBI hit of the night capped the Nationals’ third walk-off victory and 31st come-from-behind win of the year.

“I told him he wasn’t going to bunt,” Washington manager Dave Martinez said. “I said, ‘I want you to drive this run in and try to stay in the middle of the field.’ And he drove it. He’s got a nice swing.”

Zach Neto smashed his 17th home run of the season as part of a three-hit night for the Angels.

CJ Abrams, serving as the automatic runner while pinch-running for catcher Keibert Ruiz, moved up to third when Roansy Contreras (2-2) opened the 10th with a wild pitch. Tena, who Washington acquired from Cleveland as part of a package for Lane Thomas last month and was making his debut with the Nationals, ripped the next pitch off the wall in left-center to win it.

“The manager had told me I was going to win the game for us,” Tena said through a team interpreter. “Once I realized the hit was going to be the game-winning one, I turned around and gave him a little grin.”

Derek Law (7-2) pitched two innings of one-hit ball and lowered his ERA to 2.91. Law is tied for second in the majors with 59 appearances, and Saturday was the 15th time he pitched at least two innings.

“What he’s done for us not just tonight but the whole year, this guy just takes the ball,” Martinez said. “We talked the other day about how you never to have to ask whether he’ll pitch or not. If you call his name out, he’ll be ready to pitch.”

Four Nationals relievers combined to give up two hits and a walk in six scoreless innings.

The Angels were 1 for 14 with runners in scoring position on Saturday and are 2 for 27 for the series.

“That’s not too good,” manager Ron Washington said. “I don’t know if you give credit to their pitchers over there to shut us down like that or we just didn’t have good at-bats.”

The Nationals tied it in the seventh, 4-4, against Angels starter Griffin Canning. Wood doubled in Juan Yepez with none out, then came around when Tena swatted a single to left.

Canning matched a season high with seven innings, yielding four runs and eight hits without a walk or a strikeout.

Washington opened the scoring on Wood’s opposite-field homer into the visitor’s bullpen in left-center to lead off the second and took a 2-1 lead on Call’s sharp single through a drawn-in infield with one out in the third.

The Angels went ahead 3-2 on Neto’s leadoff homer in the fifth off Patrick Corbin. After Logan O’Hoppe walked, Kevin Pillar drove him in with a double to right-center that ended Corbin’s night.

Brandon Drury drove in Los Angeles’ first two runs against the left-hander with a sacrifice fly in the second and an RBI single in the fourth.

Corbin allowed four runs and eight hits in four-plus innings. He is 0-3 with a 9.45 ERA in four attempts to earn his 100th career victory since defeating Cincinnati on July 19.

Angels: Los Angeles placed RHP José Marte (viral infection) on the 15-day injured list.

Nationals: Abrams (upper back spasms) was out of the lineup for the second day in a row. … Washington recalled Tena from Triple-A Rochester, activated RHP Jordan Weems (shin splints) from the 15-day injured list and optioned RHP Joan Adon and INF Trey Lipscomb to Rochester.

Five D.C.-area teenagers are facing charges in connection with a carjacking that took place Friday night in Northwest, according to a news release from police.

Shortly after 9 p.m., the victims had just left their vehicle in the 200 block of P Street NW when the suspects approached them, police said. That’s when the suspects assaulted the victims, obtaining a phone and keys. They then fled in the victims’ vehicle, according to the news release.

The victims were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The stolen vehicle was tracked down with the help of Falcon, the D.C. police department’s air support unit.

The department’s investigation led to the arrests of a 17-year-old girl from Northeast, a 17-year-old boy from Hyattsville, Maryland, and a 17-year-old boy, 16-year-old boy and 14-year-old boy from Southeast.

The suspects have been charged with unarmed carjacking, robbery and related offenses, police said.
