Tennessee has added another name to their transfer portal class, picking up a commitment from Niagara first baseman Eric Rataczak. The 6-3, 215 pounder hit the portal on June 4th and is coming off an official visit this past weekend.

Rataczak is originally from Circle Pines, Minnesota. He spent time at San Diego and Arizona Western College before arriving at Niagara last season. During his 2024 campaign, Rataczak led the MAAC in batting average, OPS, RBI, and on base percentage. He set new program records for runs (59), hits (88), home runs (17) and RBIs (71).

Rataczak is draft eligible and may have a decision to make depending on where he’s taken next week.

Tennessee obviously has a big hole to fill in the lineup with first baseman Blake Burke headed to the pros. Burke is a projected second-round pick in next week’s event, coming off of a huge final season in Knoxville. Other potential first base options for next season include Dalton Bargo and Blake Grimmer.

Rataczak joins Gavin Kilen and Tanner Franklin as current members of Tennessee’s transfer portal class.

WalletHub measured nearly 200 cities across four components: work stress, financial stress, family stress and health/safety stress. Memphis was ranked the No. 4 most stressed city in America behind Cleveland, Detroit and Baltimore.

Other Tennessee cities on the list were Knoxville (57), Chattanooga (91) and Nashville (101).

“Money, health and the economy all remain top stressors, but around 3 in 5 adults don’t talk about their stress because they don’t want to be a burden on other people. Stress isn’t just harmful to individuals, though – by one estimate, workplace-related stress alone costs the country more than $300 billion per year,” WalletHub said.

A man was caught on camera yelling at two children and snapping their expensive fishing rod while they were fishing at what he claimed to be his private lake. The incident reportedly took place in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The video, initially shared by TikToker @fishn_shi, shows the man, allegedly intoxicated, aggressively approaching the kids before breaking their fishing rod without warning. He then threatens to toss their phones into the lake and demands they leave immediately.

“You are fishing in a private lake. Get the hell out of here. We are going to prosecute you, and you are going to pay all kinds of money because you are being a d—,” he yells at one child, then walks towards the other, shouting at him to leave.

The footage has since gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and condemnation.

“I understand if they’re trespassing and you’re a homeowner. I completely get it. But they’re just fishing for gods sake. They’re not causing damage or being loud. I just don’t understand why folks can’t be human beings anymore,” one person wrote on X.

Another commented, “There is absolutely no reason a grown man should be treating kids this way.”

A third person wrote, “Right like okay it’s a private lake sure just go down there and say hey you kids can’t fish here can you go somewhere else.”

Another user wrote, “Even if you want them to stop fishing, a simple “hey guys, sorry but this is a private lake, we’re not allowed to fish here” would’ve sufficed.”

Some social media users identified the man in the video as Matt Webster, Chairperson of the Haiti Outreach Program TN, although this has not been officially confirmed.
