Philadelphia car rally driver accused of hitting 2 separate troopers in Maryland
PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A Philadelphia man is facing charges after authorities said he hit two Maryland State troopers during illegal car rally events in Prince George’s County.
Isaiah Vega, 19, faces first-and second-degree assault and assault on a law enforcement officer, according to Maryland State Police (MSP). He is being held without bond.
Troopers struck during attempts to stop vehicle
The incidents date back to Nov. 16, 2025, when investigators with the Maryland Car Rally Task Force spotted a black Chrysler 300 without registration plates near MD 704 and Glenarden Parkway in Glenarden.
MSP officials said Vega fled during an attempted traffic stop and struck a trooper who was outside of his vehicle. That trooper was not hurt.
A short time later, officers found the same Chrysler at a gas station on Crain Highway in Bowie. During another attempt to stop the car, investigators say Vega hit another trooper before fleeing again.
The second trooper was taken to a hospital and later released.

Alleged driver identified, arrested months later
Through an investigation involving multiple agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, Virginia State Police, and Pennsylvania State Police, authorities identified Vega as the driver.
He was arrested on March 23 in Prince George’s County.

That’s because Gov. Wes Moore announced that the $3 million in financial help, which his office said, will help small- and minority-owned businesses create 72 new jobs and retain 28 more.
It’s part of an investment created by the DECADES Act passed by the General Assembly earlier this year.
The money can be used to help those businesses buy new equipment, purchase real estate and fund working capital.
Moore said in a statement that the state “must ensure that every entrepreneur has a fair shot at success.”
“This investment through the Maryland Small Business Development Financing Authority, bolstered by the DECADE Act of 2026, is a testament to our commitment to creating equitable pathways to work, wages, and wealth for our small and minority-owned businesses,” the governor added.
In the fiscal years between 2021 and 2025, the state’s small business development financing authority helped 2,450 jobs by utilizing $33 million in loans and equity investments, Moore’s office said in a release.
State Commerce Secretary Harry Coker Jr. said “Maryland is focused on creating an equitable, robust, and competitive economy,” which he said starts with supporting small businesses.
“We’re grateful to these small businesses for creating new job opportunities in Maryland and look forward to watching them grow throughout the state,” Coker Jr. said.
