Wilson, Roccaforte Lead Louisiana Past Georgia State, 14-2


ATLANTA – Jeff Wilson posted his second complete-game victory of the season and Carson Roccaforte’s three-run residence within the third inning ignited the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Baseball staff to a 14-2 victory in seven innings over Georgia State on Sunday within the finale of a Solar Belt Convention sequence on the GSU Baseball Complicated.

Heath Hood and Julian Brock every went 3-for-4 with a double on the plate whereas Connor Kimple went 2-for-5 with an RBI as Louisiana (23-16, 12-6 SBC) erupted for 15 hits and recorded back-to-back SBC street sweeps since sequence wins over ULM and Troy in 2014.

Georgia State (24-16, 10-8 SBC) scored a pair of runs within the second inning as Kyle Hilton and Griffin Cheney hit RBI singles off Wilson (4-1). The one by Cheney could be the final for the Panthers till the sixth as Wilson set down 11 straight batters – together with hanging out the aspect within the fifth.

Louisiana was held hitless towards GSU starter Camren Landry (2-3) till Kimple reached on a two-out single to proper. Max Marusak adopted with a bunt single up the third-base line and Roccaforte would file his 10th residence run of the season to provide Louisiana the lead for good at 3-2.

Louisiana will shut out its seven-game street journey starting on Friday when it travels to Boone, N.C. to face Appalachian State.

Saucier man identified as motorcyclist killed in crash in Louisiana


LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. (WLOX) – Saucier native Dustin Craven, 30, has been identified as the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash in Louisiana, officials announced on Sunday.

The crash took place during the early morning hours of Sunday on Louisiana Highway 20 near Farmer Lane in Lafourche Parish. Craven, the driver of a 2022 Harley-Davidson Street Glide, was traveling south when the motorcycle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing him to be ejected.

As a result, Craven received fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
