DCHS to reopen Meeker Homestead Museum – Delaware Gazette

On Sunday, July 10, the Delaware County Historic Society will reopen the doorways of the Meeker Homestead Museum to a brand new exhibit — “The Journey to Delaware County” — which explores the lives of early settlers in Delaware County.

Interactive shows will present how pioneers got here to the “West” within the early 1800s, and the explanations they got here, in addition to tales and first-person accounts of the life they encountered as soon as they arrived. A reproduction of a lined wagon has been created, and guests may also “store” at Byxbe’s Mercantile and “buy” the required provides to finish the lengthy journey.
