Dallas police are investigating the deaths of three women found dead in the last three months in Oak Cliff, but they have not confirmed whether the slayings are connected.
A woman identified by police as 60-year-old Kimberly Robinson was found stabbed to death April 22 under a DART light-rail bridge in the 200 block of Santa Fe Avenue, near East Eighth Street, in east Oak Cliff.
A little more than two months later, on June 24, officers found 25-year-old Cherish Gibson stabbed to death at roughly the same location.
On Saturday, police found the body of a woman in a field in north Oak Cliff, near the Trinity River in the 800 block of Brazos Street, near East Jefferson Boulevard, about 1½ miles away from where the other two bodies were found. The Dallas County medical examiner’s office ruled the death a homicide or released details about how the woman was killed, and it has not identified the woman.
Authorities said at least two of the victims potentially had ties to sex work, but police have not determined whether there is a common link between the three deaths.
“Out of an abundance of caution, and in the interest of public safety, the department wants to inform this population of this trend,” police said in a written statement Tuesday.
