RCSO to use new camera system coming to Downtown Augusta
“What we want to do is focus on the downtown area because it’s very populated on weekends, a lot of people travel, a lot of people go downtown to enjoy themselves and the entertainment part of it,” said Cpt. Danny Whitehead, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, “One of the goals of Sheriff Roundtree has been to take advantage of technology, we’ve done that the last couple of years and this is one of his next visions.”

Disaster recovery, cleanup take a holiday break in the CSRA
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Federal Emergency Management Agency Disaster Recovery Centers are taking a Christmas break.
South Carolina centers are closed from now through Dec. 29 for Christmas. They’ll also be closed on New Year’s Day.
Georgia centers are closed Tuesday through Thursday this week and then Dec. 31 through Jan. 2 next week.

Leaders say pickup will begin again on Jan. 3.
