Salvation Army hosts free clothing distribution to Helene victims
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Salvation Army of Augusta is hosting a free clothing distribution event on Tuesday at several locations.
Supporting those affected by Hurricane Helene, The Salvation Army of Augusta holds a special Free Clothing Distribution event across its four Family Stores and The Kroc Center.
The event has been made possible through a generous donation from The Pros Fore Clothes Foundation. The event aims to provide essential clothing to families working to rebuild their lives after the hurricane.
The clothing distribution will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29. Clothing will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Distribution locations include:
- South Augusta Family Store: 3206 Peach Orchard Road Unit 7, Augusta
- The Kroc Center of Augusta: 1833 Broad Street, Augusta
- River Watch Family Store: 4099 River Watch Parkway, Martinez
- Thomson Family Store: 2115 Harrison Road SE, Thomson
- North Augusta Family Store: 1751 Knox Avenue, North Augusta
During the event, people in need can provide their clothing sizes, and The Salvation Army staff and volunteers will assist in distributing items in those sizes. While most available clothing items are in youth large and adult sizes, some sizes are limited and may run out quickly.
Major Jonathan Raymer, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Augusta, said, “Our clothing voucher program works alongside our Family Stores and is available to ensure families have access to essential items when they need them most. We’re grateful for The Pros Fore Clothes Foundation’s support, which will make a lasting impact on many families in Augusta who are still recovering from Hurricane Helene.”
