Week 6 Inactives vs. Atlanta
CHARLOTTE — The Panthers went through the week with a handful of starters out of practice because of injuries, and their inactive list Sunday reflects that.
Starting outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (shoulder), right tackle Taylor Moton (foot), linebacker Josey Jewell (hamstring/groin), and tight end Tommy Tremble (concussion) are all inactive for Sunday’s game against the Falcons.
Also inactive are backup center Andrew Raym (concussion), guard Jarrett Kingston, and cornerback Shemar Bartholomew.
Being inactive halts Moton’s consecutive start streak at 104 games and his consecutive games played streak at 120.
The Panthers promoted veteran outside linebacker Marquis Haynes Sr. to the 53-man roster and activated tight end Ian Thomas on Saturday to help fill in some of the blanks. They also promoted defensive tackle T.J. Smith and offensive tackle Brandon Walton from the practice squad to help add depth.

The Falcons certainly had a choppy start to the season, but there is no question they are playing like a more confident compared to 2023. After their Week 2 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta showed its might against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs the following game. Then, the offense started to pick in key NFC South matchups against the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Against the Bucs on Thursday Night Football last week, Kirk Cousins threw for 509 yards and four touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime to KhaDarel Hodge to push the Falcons to a 36-30 win.
While Cousins has found his magic, Andy Dalton and the Panthers lost their brief sparkle of it. Dalton’s performance against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3 gave many confidence that Carolina could be a tough team to beat. However, the last two weeks have changed that narrative. After getting outdueled by Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals two weeks ago, the Panthers were stymied by the Chicago Bears defense, leading to a 36-10 loss in Week 5. If Dalton does not put up a better effort on Sunday, the team might as well go back to second-year QB Bryce Young.
The Falcons are 36-22 against the Panthers, though the teams have split the last two season series.
MY PICK: Falcons win, 31-13
