Wisconsin is running back university, and here is yet another piece of statistical evidence to prove that. The Badgers are the only school since 2010 to have three different running backs lead the NCAA in rushing yards. Wisconsin has had three rushing leaders since that time, with only San Diego State also having multiple seasons where their back led the country in rushing.
It started in 2011 with Montee Ball leading the nation in rushing with 1,923 yards, and was followed up by Melvin Gordon’s 2,587 rushing yards in 2014. Most recently, Jonathan Taylor led the country in rushing with 2,194 yards in 2018.
