SOMERSET, Wis. — A Minnesota teenager died and 4 different folks have been significantly damage after being stabbed whereas tubing down a Wisconsin river, authorities stated.
St. Croix County Sheriff Scott Knudson the victims and suspect, a 52-year-old Prior Lake, Minnesota man, have been all on the Apple River when the assault occurred Saturday afternoon. Knudson stated investigators have been working to find out what led to the stabbings and whether or not the victims and suspect knew one another. They have been tubing with two completely different teams that included about 20 folks.
“We don’t know but who was related to who, who knew one another or what precipitated it,” Knudson stated.
The knife assault occurred on a difficult-to-access part of the river close to the city of Somerset, Wisconsin, which is about 35 miles east of Minneapolis. The suspect was arrested about an hour and a half later whereas getting off the river downstream.
“Thank goodness a witness had taken a photograph of him,” Knudson informed the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “One other witness situated him on the exit of the tubing space, the place he was taken into custody.”
A 17-year-old boy from Stillwater, Minnesota, died. Two of the opposite victims have been flown to a hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, and two others have been taken there by ambulance. The sheriff’s workplace stated Sunday that the situation of all 4 surviving victims – a lady and three males of their 20s – ranged from critical to crucial. They suffered stab wounds to their chests and torsos.
