Milwaukee Athletics Extends Partnership with Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin
OHOW to continue as Official Healthcare Provider of the Panthers
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee Athletics and Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin (OHOW) have agreed to a 3-year extension of their longstanding partnership through Milwaukee Panther Sports Properties, the locally-based team of Learfield – the media and technology company powering college athletics.
OHOW has been a dedicated partner of the Panthers since 2011 and will continue as their Official Healthcare Provider, staffing team doctors at Milwaukee’s home sporting events and offering orthopedic care for Panther student-athletes through the 2027-28 athletics season.
“For well over a decade, Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin has stood by our side, championing our athletes and our mission,” said Amanda Braun, Milwaukee Director of Athletics. “We are very thankful to continue this amazing partnership with OHOW and we are grateful for physicians Dr. Don Middleton, Dr. Patrick Jost, Dr. Jake Bauwens, and Dr. John Wu who work hand-in-hand with our student-athletes. A renewed commitment from such a long-time partner speaks volumes, and we’re honored to keep moving forward together.”
In addition to category exclusivity, OHOW also receives assets including courtside signage at Panther Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball and Volleyball contests, logo placement on Milwaukee’s media backdrop, signage at the Panthers’ athletic training facility, and in-state use of all official Milwaukee Athletics logos and marks.
“OHOW’s partnership with UWM is a critical piece of our community involvement,” said Brandon G. Goldbeck, OHOW Chief Executive Officer. “The relationship is easy when UWM and OHOW align with all targets of excellence. This has been a wonderful benefit for the hospital as well as the UWM student athletes. The credit for service must include the OHOW team physicians. The efforts of Dr. Patrick Jost, Dr. Don Middleton, Dr. Jake Bauwens, and Dr. John Wu cannot be underscored. They dedicate hundreds of hours to serving the injured athletes. With their dedicated commitment, both sides are stronger.”
“We’re thrilled to continue our longstanding relationship with OHOW as the Official Healthcare Provider of Milwaukee Athletics,” added Kristina Filipovic, General Manager of Milwaukee Panther Sports Properties. “Their support of Milwaukee Athletics and Panther student-athletes as well as the care they provide to Milwaukee and surrounding communities makes them an invaluable partner for the success of our athletics programs.”
Milwaukee Panther Sports Properties is the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Milwaukee Athletics and oversees all sponsorship agreements on behalf of the Panthers.

Travelers see shorter lines at Milwaukee Mitchell despite the ongoing partial government shutdown
MILWAUKEE — Despite a partial government shutdown causing long TSA lines at airports across the country, travelers at Milwaukee Mitchell airport are experiencing short wait times ahead of spring break.
John Wahlen and his colleague Joe Orendorf were coming back home from North Carolina and prepared for a much different scene.
“We were remarkably surprised that it was as easy as it was,” Wahlen said.

A national TSA spokesperson told TMJ4 that over 3,450 TSA officers called out across the country on Thursday. The national call-out rate was at 11.83% percent, the highest since the shutdown began.
While the TSA could not provide specific numbers for Milwaukee Mitchell, the airport was not in the top-10 for call-out rates.
The highest percentages of call-offs came from much larger airports, including George Bush Intercontinental in Houston at 44 percent, Atlanta at almost 41 percent, and Baltimore at 37 percent.
“We were in smaller airports, Raleigh-Durham, I think we waited for two people, and one of them was him,” Orendorf said.

A spokesperson for Milwaukee Mitchell told TMJ4 that around 11,000 people are expected this Friday and Saturday, and next Friday and Saturday as spring break travel peaks.
President Trump signed an executive order to pay TSA agents, meaning a resolution may be on the horizon. Travelers, including Selena Mauricio, said they are thankful for the agents who are still showing up.

“Their jobs aren’t easy, and I commend the ones that still come to work, definitely,” Mauricio said.
